Agreed. The eye poke certainly limited him yesterday.

Mick mentioned in the post game he couldn't see clearly out of that eye. Said that was why he didn't get minutes.

I was generally happy with those two yesterday But, Nyarsuk still has more than his share of clumsy moments. I think a strong off-season should help him for next year.

Still concerned about Guyn. I am encouraged that Mick says he is picking it up in practice, but it isn't showing much on the stat line. We will need him down the stretch. Cash cannot be out there 30+ minutes a game.

Nyarsuk also fumbled the ball away multiple times. His Rebs were somewhat offset by some horrible turnovers. I still would like to see us go smaller and more uptempo and play all the true bigs a little less.

I would rather have Nyarsuk in there than Mbodj at this point. He's more active on the glass & can actually make a layup in traffic. Mbodj cannot finish. Ever. He may block a few more shots but it seems to be a wash on defense for the most part.

I'd also like to see Sanders & Thomas take more of Rubles minutes. To me, Titus just doesn't do much to make a difference on either end against good teams.

Mbodj is not a bad foul shooter. I wish he would not shy away from contact so much in the low post and alter his shots. Try to be more like Gardner of Marquette. He doesn't earn much in the way of style points, but scores a bunch from the FT line because he draws so much contact.

Rubles is still a great rebounder and I think people overlook that, he might lead the team or be a close second in that statistical category. I also think he is a tougher defender than either Sanders or Thomas. Rubles inability to score the ball has me mystified though, when he appears to have the skills to do so. I think he should shoot it more often when he drives into the lane, but seems content to kick it out.

I see a big improvement over Guyn in the second half of the season. He has always been a solid defender. But now it seems like he is looking to score more often when he is on the floor. He is not afraid to dribble penetrate and throw up that teardrop floater that goes in. He is not a bad 3 pt shooter and he shoots it well from the FT line. The area of his game that needs he most work (and therefore limits his minutes IMO) is in running the offense and distributing the ball.

Mboj while a better defender in general is just not effective offensively. At least Dave can finish some of the time- I think Nyarsuk deserves more minutes.
