We (Memphis) will earn our own credits.

LOL! Yea, those first round flameouts are sure racking up the points.

Hope to see you in the tourney bud, with some refs who aren't wearing red goggles.

What? Did you'll suddenly hire a coach who actually knows how to X and O, Otherwise you stand no chance.

You will hate this: they were a part of the "pre-nup" as their own entity, and they get to leave without paying a dime. Now, leaving earlier (they were going to adhere to the 27 months) may cost them money, but they owe no exit fee simply for leaving. It's essentially the same as the C7 leaving. I didn't know that either...

I have never heard this saying before (I assume it is Texas slang) but I may have to jack it from you. I love it.

What's the point of starting a new conference? I unless there is someoen in the conference you want to "uninvite" there's really no purpose in it, other than losing exit fees, losing NCAA credits, and losing the BCS autobid for 2013.

As far as I know, it was a part of the deal cancellation the method in which the deal is renewed or rejected. I can't tell you for sure, but ESPN likely put in the last look provision in exhange for something given to the BE such as extra money on the contract. Just a guess though. Anyway based on the wording thus that would put them in breach (you can be be in breach of an expired contract).

Plus, are there any other options? It appears every time the BE rejects a TV deal, they get a worse offer the next time.

Exactly. The offer got worse--way way way worse. The current offer is about what CUSA would have received had they renewed in the current market. Basically, when your at the bottom of the market, there isnt nearly as much risk involved in rejecting the offer. The offer is already available from at least one other network. I cant say for sure, but my guess is that all claims on the Big East property end when the last game is shown in late 2013. Unless they want to pay the current face amount of the current agreement to extend the rights--I think the jig would be up for ESPN's right to match. Our presidents are pretty much idiots. Im sure they will sign the ESPN deal, ok the C-7 deal and send them both flowers, candy, and the deeds to thier homes.

Not if the contract stipulates how the new contracts must be negotiated. You cna breach an expired contract.

Right, but at least he doesn't cheat on his wife and pay for another woman's abortion.

Let them sue. I doubt they really want that. Unlike the CUSA situation, in this case, discovery would be just what the doctor ordered for the conferece to be named later.
