I'm not trying to bait anyone. I didn't know about a prior discussion about his usage of timeouts in the USM game until sigepmike posted in this thread about it.

People sure are sensitive tonight. I guess some think I am wanting to lash out at those that have criticized Pastner. That is not my intent. I just noticed a few times during the game that he was calling 30 second timeouts right before certain media timeouts and I thought that was a good strategy.

I'm sorry JMS. All respect for you. But you knew what you were doing.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I don't bait or play games on here for laughs. I try to contribute information and help foster good discussion here. I still am not sure what thread or post I was supposedly responding to. I guess it was the game thread, which I have not read. I will go back and read it in a little bit.

I agree, but that probably just means we don't shat about basketball, lol.

Agreed - I also thought his time-outs were effective.

i liked it today. i think some of the strategy was to keep the crowd tamped down as much as possible and the team focused. he was NOT going to allow usm to score more than 4 unanswered points on us and get a real run started. very impressive effort by staff

His timeouts yesterday were very smart he called them right after we had scored buckets therefore allowing us take momentum into the timeout and gave us a chance to set a defensive playcall. Then after the media timeout it allowed him to make an offensive play call.

Overall I think it was one of the best coached games CJP has had since becoming head coach. It helped keep the crowd tame. We looked poised on the road in a hostile environment.

His timeouts seem to be much more effective than coach x use to have. We usually come out after his timeouts and execute a play.

I love the way our team is playing together right now! Everyone has bought in 100% and we look like a well coached team. Shooting over 50% from the field helps out as well.

As long as Josh realizes this isnt a blanket policy.

It was terrible timing in the last game. This game it was perfect. Using timeouts like that is very situational.
