Interesting bit that Garrett Wolfe has returned to campus to follow up on his degree. Perhaps there will be a spot for him on our staff after all.
Some clarity on the Fleck situation would be nice, but it happened behind closed doors so the truth will never come out.

Quote:With all due respect, I don’t know what transpired in Fleck’s 24-hour tenure as NIU offensive coordinator under Dave Doeren. It is a regrettable situation for sure, but I thought Doeren’s official quote that P.J. did not feel “ready” for such a position didn’t jive with reality. The situation could have been handled with a bit more diplomacy. You don’t throw popular and prominent Huskie alums under the bus.
I don't know what happened either, but:
Most likely, the reason DD's quote didn't jive with reality is DD was taking the "high road" and NOT throwing PJ "under the bus"
The only way PJ ends up "under the bus" was likely by his own doing.
Usually find Korcek reasonable but not sure where he's coming from on this topic.

I would argue the exact opposite.
You don't accept a job at your alma mater...and then leave 24 hours later UNLESS things are not as they appear.
From what I've seen and read about Fleck in the last 30+ days...he doesn't strike me as someone who turns down a challenge or doesn't think he's ill-equipped for what comes next. The DD quote is smoke and mirrors. Fleck's silence on the matter backs it up IMO.
The reason he left is still a mystery because it's likely an embarrassment for ALL parties involved.

That would be one hell of a GA RB or ST coach!

Korcek's point about journalism today being unwilling/unable/not equipped in age of instant information to do thorough research before articles are published sez alot.

The full, real and inside story if any re: Fleck, NIU and DD may never be made public.
Will Wolfe return to Montreal for next season?
