Why this insistence on BYU? Yes, I want them back but as an equal. If they want some "special" arrangement because they are inherently better than the rest of us-- then, no. Believe me, we will be fine without them.
BYU in the league is like marrying a beautiful woman. Great trophy wife but very high maintenance.

BYU would be a good addition, but SpartaRIck is right: they will be high maintenance. Still, I think the advantages to the MWC outweigh the disadvantages. The article you source also suggests adding UCONN and Cincinatti. Those two would forever be openly begging to join the ACC or B10. Would we want that? I got tired of hearing many of their fans crying and wringing their hands about it when we were wanting to make a go of the Big East. Houston would be good, or SMU, or even UTEP if BYU comes on board.
But I also believe in the old saying, "12-14 is company, 16's a crowd."

Yeah, only mini-BYU in Idaho gets a special deal and is recognized as being better than the rest of the MWC!

I'm not defending the BSU deal. However, it is not as far reaching as many fear. If BYU only got that deal, I'd be OK with it.

I think at this point BYU definitely deserves a deal. Some products in the MWC are just better then others and as soon as we all start excepting those facts the better all of us will be. If SJSU goes on a 10 year historic run then I would be in favor of them having a special deal.
