PAC or ACC maybe but Deloss is still the AD at Texas. Until he retires, I don't see UH getting a Big 12 invite.

If the big 5 all go to 16, Byu, Cincy, Uconn, USF, UCF, and Houston will be in great shape. As well as a few more. Big and SEC each need 2 Pac needs 4, and Big 12 would need 6 and ACC 1 or 2 depend on ND.. That is a total of 15 or 16 schools. Now if they only go to 14, they still need to add 5 or 6. Depending on what ND does.

The bigger question is, Will there be a power 5?? or only 4.

Agree on the "will there be a power 5 or 4" comment.

The Big 12 did take a real look at Tulane and considered them the last time around. Those contacts were extensive. It is a move that the Big 12 might seriously consider making in order to invade SEC country. There were a number of members, including Texas, that felt Tulane would grow and develop into a solid program with Big 12 membership. Plus, a lot of their membership loves the N.O. market as a travel destination, and it is geographically close and convenient. It is a solid, not huge, but very solid TV market at 1.3 million. I wouldn't count out Tulane at all as being in the mix.

This whole thing is depressing. It is what it is. I hope it holds off at least until the TV contract can be finalized.

There is a big billboard in downtown Houston that proclaims it SEC Country.

4x18 will be the model. 72 teams make the cut.

Just for fun,under that scenario:
PAC12 adds 6--UT,TTU,OU,OSU,KU & KSU
B10 adds 4--UVa, GTU, NC & Duke
SEC adds 4--NCSU, VPI, WVU & FSU,and
ACC & BIG12 Remnants (Clem., Mia.,WF, BC,UL,Pitt.,ND,Syr. & ISU, Bay.,TCU) add 7--Cincy, BYU, Boise, Hou., USF, SMU & 1 of Temp./UCF/Mem./
Had problems with last team or 2 for SEC once Duke & NC were allocated to B10.

ACC is going to get raided.

2 to Big 10
2 to SEC
6 to Big 12

BC, Cuse, Wake Forest, and Pitt will add 8-10 Big East teams (Cuse and Pitt may go Football only with bball to C-7).

I doubt expansion will wind up as great as many of you seem to think.

Take a look at your hometown newspaper in regards to TV ratings. Yeah, A&M had a good year but lets see what happens when A&M comes back to earth.

...puff, puff, pass...

OK, I've lived in Houston (Rice for grad school and worked for an engineering firm down there), and UT got far greater market penetration in Houston than UH did. Hell, you guys were almost always relegated to the 7th page of the Houston Chronicle behind 2.5 pages of Texas, 2.5 pages of TAMU, and a page of other Big 12 news.

2 of the states 3 ( Texas Tech & Texas) largest fan supported schools have been down relatively speaking while A&M had a monster year. Tech fixed their coaching problem with the Kingsbury hire and I imagine UT will do that in the future. A&M might be riding a wave right now but make no mistake, Houston is a Big 12 town. Always will be.

Tell yourself that. Houston is an A&M town...and its now an SEC town.

The sole reason I want Texas, OU, Boise State, and Kansas to get the PAC-12 is to watch Texas Tech flop around trying to look important among OSU, Kansas State, Iowa State, WVU, Baylor, TCU, SMU, Houston, Cincinnati, Memphis and Tulane . . . the little brother who got left behind in the pasture with the cool kids, who can't stand the little chit . . .

The ACC/Big 12 dynamic is interesting in and of itself.

I don't think the revenue difference is enough for the Big 12 to take the schools they want from the ACC. Unlike the B1G, the Big 12 can't generate its own revenue from expasion. Hence from the article, Bowlsby is slowly appearing to resign himself to the fact he may need to select elsewhere and hope the selection grows into the Big 12.

The only other option is for ESPN to give him more money so the Big 12 can raid the ACC which is under contract to.... ESPN.

Fox could do it, but in all honestly, if anyone jumps to the B12 from the ACC it won't be because it's the B12 or the money, it will be because they want out of the ACC. FSU and Clemson seem to fit this mold, the others would likely require something along the lines of UNC taking off and putting the fate of the conference up in the air. Not saying that will happen, just that it would take something of that magnitude to cause the others to think twice about staying in the ACC.

From what I recall, Fox and ESPN were in about 50-50 on the Big 12 deal. I suppose what you say (Fox could do it) is possible, but I can think of many reasons it could cause problems for them down the road. They both (Fox and ESPN) probably have to approve new additions, I would think. Who knows?

From what I've read, its mostly been the FSU fans making noise about leaving the ACC. The people in charge have a more measured approach.

I think the next B1G and SEC moves will send more of a signal about the ACC fate. So far, the B1G has nibbled at the edges of the ACC by choosing Rutgers and Maryland. We'll see if either one goes after the heart. If the Big 12 gets the money to get who they want, I would bet they will.
