Its a good thing to stay at 10 teams for now in the BE....When the Maryland case is Settled, The Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12 will expand again....Big 12 wants CCG at 10 and when Denied, they will come calling for at least 2 more...Where do you think those teams are coming from, thats right the ACC...I see at least 6 and possibly 8 more spots opening up...I Like Our chances when those happen, and we just gotta keep on Winning and Improving, and doing whatever it takes to get it done. So a 10 team league is good for now....The World Is Ours Memphis..

Sounds like Tulsa will get added, but it may not be until 2014 or 2015.

GMC hoops was pretty good while it lasted, but there were some great years in the first version of C-USA. We were the fifth rated league and received 6 bids to the Dance in 2003-04.

Not saying it will happen, But Hope we are working hard as we can behind the scenes on getting a Big 12 invite....Hopefully Us and Tulane, and get them into SEC country after SEC got Texas A&M... Memphis and Tulane have been Discussed before...But again not saying it will Happen, but hope we are persueing it all all angles.....Libertybowl did host Big 12 this year, and hopefully we talked to the Right people behind the scenes....The World Is Ours Memphis....

If that happens, it sounds like we will end up in the ACC with Louisville, UNC and Duke. Football might suck a little after the ACC is fully raided enough for us to get in, but ideal for basketball.

Florida State maybe, But GT has their Eyes on Big Ten as The Big Ten has Eyes on them as well...Not so sure about Miami, they aren't the same program anymore, and not sure they are ever fully coming back...And not Sold on Clemson either yet...But could see that....But As Long as Memphis and Tulane Show Real good Progress and committment, we could both very well be looked at, and would expand them into the heart of SEC country....We have a big enough Staduim in the LIbertybowl and they could always use the Superdome for some of those teams as well....Again not saying it will or is gonna happen, but Hope and wish it wold happen...And that we do have people talking to them behind the scenes on it some....If not i like our chances for the ACC as well too....The World Is Ours MEmphis...

Miami doesn't really have the cache that the B12 is looking for I don't think. Small private school, small but national fanbase, not a lot of booster support. They'll likely end up wherever Duke, UNC, BC end up.

When the next big raid happens it will result in the ACC being trimmed much as this last round trimmed the BE. Unless we get into the Big XII it'll just be another lateral move.

If all this shakes out as people are saying/thinking, then once the ACC gets raided, Clemson, Duke, UVA, GT, UNC and Florida St could all possibly be gone. We'd basically be jumping into the same boat by going there.

It could be like joining the old Big East. I don't see most of the northern flank of the ACC getting picked up by anyone (Boston College, Pitt, Syracuse, eventually UConn).

Not sure whether stability or chaos is best for us just now. Stability lets us build the football program with Fuente - IF he is the guy we think he is; and, IF no big budget program steals him before the job is done. Buy tickets - win games - put butts in seats - build the resume.

Ok, I'm really confused on a lot of people saying we need to do everything we can possibly do to improve FB so we can get into one of the BCS Leagues in the future..If things keep going the way there going we will have 4 super Conferences with 16 members in each within a year or two..And when and if this happens if your not in then it's over!! Katiebarthedoor!! The BCS Conferences would be set in stone..Am I way off base here because I don't think I am..I just think that this will all play out and be over within the next 2 years and if we or anyone else aren't in then you can pretty much write off being in a BCS League...I'm just asking because this is what I've been thinking when I see all these threads saying we have to get better to be able to make it into one of these Conferences 5 to 10 yrs. down the road..I do understand we have to get better, because who knows when and if it will happen, but things are sure headed that way it seems..

Conference realignment is completely unpredictable. It could end up being 65 programs (64 in four conferences + Notre Dame) are the haves and everyone else is a have not or it could be 72 or 80 in five conferences or some other configuration. Now there is talk that the Big Ten could go to 18 or 20 members eventually. No one knows when or how this will ever end. All Memphis can do is make every effort possible to improve its football program and hopefully we get a seat at the adult table one of these days.
