As a UTSA fan I'm excited to be playing Texas teams. If they leave we need to be right behind them. UTEP could be a nice rival. We traveled well last year @ Rice. Denton is a stone throw away.

Nope...we want Tulsa in the BE...I would also add VCU to counter Navy football.

12 football teams...12 basketball teams.

With Memphis, UConn, Cincy, Temple, and VCU you've got a good core of basketball teams.

Everything I've read has VCU lobbying to get in with the Catholic 7. They might consider it if they can't get in with them or if they decide they would leave the A10

If I'm the C7 I don't want to go past 9 or 10 (for scheduling reasons) everything I've read says the main targets are: Xavier, Butler, and St. Louis

But even if VCU got picked...take UMass "other sports"...the A-10 wouldn't be nearly as attractive without Xavier, Butler, and VCU. (Plus the Temple/UMass rivalry)

11 all-sport members...Navy football/UMass other sports...12 football...12 basketball

Moreover, UMass could eventually move to the BE for football should we ever decide to go to 14.

Id set my sites higher than UMASS. Waste of time.

Look at the guy you are talking to. He is a Memphis fan. Ive seen the Liberty Bowl just as empty as the SuperDome. So they would fit right in and well they might win a game or 2.

If Cincy and UConn can either get the rules changed or a waiver to play in 2 conferences. I could see them putting their olympic sports with the C7 and playing football with the MWC.

Something no one has thought of but if they would get the OK from the NCAA to do that then the BE can be desolved. The C7 have to have 2 football members to agree to desolve the BE. And right there are 2.

UConn has already said no to that...their ad confirms they want all their sports in one conference...no hybrids.

Memphis finished 4-4 in CUSA and on a 3 game win streak...I remember putting 40-50k in the Liberty Bowl for teams like UL, UC, Tennessee, Mississippi, USM...we had 39k for our first game with UT-M

What rules? Boise St and SDSU were going to do just that. Football in one and other sports in another conference.

NCAA requires an FBS conference have 8 full members that play FBS. Team #9 can be non-football, Team #10 can play football as an indy and be in for all other sports, Team #11 can play football in the league and other sports in a different league. Team #12 can play men's soccer in the league and everything else in another league. Doesn't matter as long as there are 8 full members who are FBS.

So 14 for this coming year. I wonder when they will announce divisions and such. I really hope that Marshall, Southern Miss & UAB remain in the same division.

I think it all depends on the ACC/Maryland lawsuit. If Louisville is given permission to leave early, I think the alignment changes come in a mass upheaval... but before that can happen, I think the Maryland lawsuit has to come to full play.

I'm surprised that Maryland hasn't requested a rush on the court hearing to get everything going quicker.

I hear ya, and think you'll get your wish for one last season. If you just look at a map, it looks like this is the most geographic sense for 2013. In 2015, however, I don't think there is anyway MU, USM and UAB can stay together:

East
Marshall
ECU
UAB
MTSU
FIU
FAU
USM

West
La Tech
Tulsa
Rice
UTEP
UTSA
North Texas
Tulane

Love that fact that MTSU and FAU may well be coming in this year!

I don't understand people's love for UMass either for any conference. In my amateur opinion they have a better chance of disappearing from the FBS landscape than improving their current lowly place in it.

Wow, assuming this happens, next spring we will have a lot of Basketball schools.

East
Marshall
ECU
UAB
MTSU
FIU
FAU
ODU
Charlotte

West
La Tech
Tulsa
Rice
UTEP
UTSA
North Texas
Tulane
USM

We'd have to have a 22-game conference schedule to maintain our current scheduling method. So, I guess we'll have a less balanced schedule and only play 4 cross division games. BTW, a note for new C-USA schools; the conference uses divisions for scheduling (2x division, 1x cross-division) but not for standings or tournament seedings.

Didn't you guys just go 0-12? Yeah...that's what I thought.

Yeah USM went 0-12 in 2012 ending an eighteen year winning season streak, 10 straight bowl games, first losing season as C-USA member and the list goes on. You are a disgrace to the school you claim to support because you just make others think you represent the mainstream Tiger fans and I know you don't. Such an statement as that shows you lack the ability to think into anything beyond the surface level.

Umass isn't even the real flagship institution for Mass, its the public flagship in a state full of privates. The real flagships of Mass are Harvard and MIT
