2013 Schedule
8/31 @ Iowa
9/7 OPEN
9/14 @ Idaho
9/21 E Ill
9/28 Purdue

So is the 7th our off week, or do we have plans to schedule another game.. It seems to me judging by past schedules we play 4 non and 8 conference.. But that would leave 2 bye weeks..

RE: 2013 Schedule
Look for 2 Thursday night ESPN games at home next year. Toledo had that this year, it's our turn.

RE: 2013 Schedule
This is exactly what I was talking about. Three non-conference home games against teams I might want to see (at least Idaho is a bit of a novelty) and then a non-conference snoozer against Eastern Illinois. Best home game is Ball State? We follow up the super exciting Orange Bowl appearance with no games that will pack Huskie Stadium. Instead we get Ball State. So frustrating...I just want more than three exciting opponents per year and at least one exciting home opponent per year!!!

With a comment like that I guess you are a new Huskie fan.

Most Huskie fans would rather play an instate FCS team like EIU rather than Idaho.

If you want different scheduling for our OOC games then you will have to wait for a new AD. He is not changing his ways of scheduling because what he did got us in a BCS game...)some how even with 1 loss)...which was the whole point.

RE: 2013 Schedule
I think the point is to get more Huskie fans. Nobody in the real world cares about either Idaho or Eastern Illinois, but 90 percent are going to say Idaho is the better game if they had to go see the game. NIU isn't in position to bring in garbage opponents because we aren't a top tier school from a BCS conference. To get more fans you have to play against better opponents. At this point, victories don't mean anything if they come against opponents nobody cares about.

I care about Idaho, means the Utah Huskies can drive to the game! I will be doing a tailgate for the game, hopefully a Huskie turnout other than us.

Dogpick, they meant something this year, those victories put us into the orange bowl. EIU vs NIU will probably be a sell-out. Orange Bowl flag raising, IPF, MAC flag raising, new scoreboard, first home game and EIU will bring a good crowd. Dogpick, I think you are just screwing around with your posts!

So we have only 5 home games this year? I know the Purdue game is on the road though it isn't listed that way in the OP.

EIU isn't going to be a sellout. I'll have some of what you're drinking.

Dogpick sounds like a Marshall fan, thinks that teams like UTEP and Tulane are more exciting than WMU and Buffalo because they are further away.

your 2nd week might be an early MAC game, I would hope for EMU. If you can beat Iowa the week before then that next home game would surely be a sell out regardless of opponent so might as well make it one that wouldn't otherwise draw well. That's how Ohio was able to set their attendance record against a team like New Mexico State.

We didn't get much of a bump after beating Purdue OR Minnesota. Granted, Iowa is considered a better opponent but still. I don't see a sellout.

Perhaps a silly question, but is the Purdue game at SF or HS?

Big in attendance as in since 2008 yes.

Without an Iowa win I would not expect over 22k.

Win an Iowa win I would expect the berm to be used.

Week 2 will either be at Kent St or a bye week.

All our other conference opponents have OOC games that day.

I would not be surprised if ESPN put us on a short week for a Thursday or Friday night vs Kent St for that game though.

I keep hearing that their coach is getting interviews for NFL HC jobs.

Makes it a little extra bitter knowing our fans can't see the 2013 games because of the same people that made a mockery out of NIU football.
