The ball was clearly short by a few inches based on the sticks and the refs gave the 1st down to Michigan anyway.
It was so blatantly a wrong call and wasn't reversed.

Karma is a ***** though as Michigan coughed it up on their next possession and on South Carolina's next play the Gamecocks scored a TD.

I've honestly never seen anything like it. Ball is short of the sticks and they call it a first down. They'll be replaying that one for a while.

Speaking of replaying something for a while, on the very next play Jadeveon Clowney absolutely crushed Michigan's RB causing a fumble. Probably the best hit I've seen this year. Then he just grabs the fumble one handed.

Clowney is a beast. Wicked hit. Great athleticism.

The gift first down was so blatantly bad it was baffling. Any one could see it was clearly short.
I hope those officials are reviewed and rebuked for the blown call. It could have been a difference maker.

Another big hit by Clowney. When is that kid draft eligible?

Not a big Spurrier fan but his team played through adversity and won despite the officials.

I was multi-tasking watching a highlight show (yesterday?) and there was a field goal attempt that obviously missed but was signalled good by a ref properly positioned under one of the uprights. Luckily it was reversed on replay but sounds similarly incompetent. Anyone able to help with the details or a clip?

I think I heard that they were Big East officials.

That wouldn't surprise me. BE officials in general are inept.

I don't believe they were favored to win any of the games, so that shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Frankly, I think they're feeling pretty good Nebraska didn't get blown out, which I expected. I thought Wisconsin showed well too given their situation. They're a lot easier to tolerate without Bret Bielema on the sidelines.

FSU should win big on paper, but you have to wonder how "up" they are for playing against a non-BCS team.

I was wondering how badly NIU has to lose to fall below UC in the polls.

Can't really make fun of the B1G too much this year, if PSU and OSU were eligible then Nebraska and Wisconsin slide down to much more winnable bowl games.

I thought it was 2-5

Winners are Northwestern - for the first time in over 60 years - and Michigan State by one over TCU.

Losers are Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota, Purdue.

you know I've always like UofL and rooted for them when they didnt play us...even rooted for them vs other Big East teams. But some of the UofL fans in the ncaabbs have taken such an uppity attidute since the acc invite I hope Florida drills them.

EJ Manual is tough to watch at times. The NIU QB plays like Chazz Anderson. This game stinks.
