You're absolutely right, NBPirate, and the great mission of the rest of us in the Go5, is to shut up and put up. It will be an amazingly interesting sub-plot for C-USA, the MW, the MAC and the SBC to put a better product on the field and keep you all from running away from the rest of us. As it stands, with Boise in your stable, you guys have the top conference. Anyone who thinks differently is smoking something. But things change, we all have 85 scholarships and equal access to available talent, and your money difference is likely not going to be as big as we all once thought. So enjoy your perch at the top. But you're going to keep it ONLY by performing and it's up to the rest of us to stop you. Possible? Ask Northern Illinois.

But the name-brand is worth so much!

Serious? It's an internet sports forum.

I was just creating conversation from a different perspective. The Big Four, *****, the networks created the Mid Major Football label. If you are lucky enough to be included in the Big Four, that's great. If not then, the best of the rest. Who is the best of the rest? Many opinions there. The Mid Major programs should continue to fight the fight but at what point does it become futile?

Now basketball is labeled big boys and Mid Major. I can only imagine what is next on the horizon there.

Merry Christmas!

Ace...

Actually college hoops used the term "mid-major" long before Roy Kramer and his cronies used it to segregate college football. High major, major, mid major, low major all were used to describe and break up the over 300 division 1 programs.

How exactly are they the "best of the rest"? Please enlighten us.
