If he's informed UC he's leaving, and they let him appear at those bowl activities, Babcock should be fired.

If he hasn't informed UC, he's an even bigger piece of crap than Kelly and Babcock and Ono should be demanding an answer immediately or he would be facing disciplinary action or possible termination.

That doesn't even make the slightest bit of sense. What contractual obligation does Butch Jones have to the Belk Bowl? Even if he did have any, wouldn't those obligations be null and void if he was no longer UC's head coach?

Sounds like the reporters in Colorado are grasping at straws.

The contractual obligation to the bowl thing is nonsense. If he was prepared to accept the position on Monday, the two day delay has unnecessarily impacted UC's ability to get a new coach and begin the transition. It has also left two teams and fanbases anxiously strung along for 48 hours. For two bowl press conferences? Come on.

These players really need to stop with the "Coombs for HC!" crap.

It's awesome that the players love Coombs, but that does not mean he would make a good college football head coach. I don't even know that he is a good college football assistant coach.

I think he could possibly be successful if he can put together a staff of quality assistants. If he just brings in the staff from Colerain HS, not so much....

Yup all we really know is that he is a good recruiter/speaker/motivator. Being a HC, even one who is more a manager than an Xs and Os guru involves a whole heck of a lot more than that.

I'll wait until it's officially told by him.
Denver's media was desperate and maybe it didn't happen yet.
if it did, best of luck to him because it will be a tougher job than Cincy was for him.
and it will probably hurt his future in coaching if he fails.

Problem is, you can't afford to learn on the job how to become a HC at a BCS-level college, especially when you've never been an OC/DC.

Coombs may be great for guys already in the program, but what recruit is going to look at him as being the best option to take his talents to the next level without proving himself as a HC first? My guess is that all the recruiting skills in the world won't limit the damage other HCs inflict on him using that line of thought.
