Wow. This is the "best" BC can do??? Ball St. coach??

http://ajerseyguy.com/

Boston College Director of Athletics Brad Bates is closing in on finding his new football coach and sources at BC say that Bates has paired down his list to three finalists.

New Orleans offensive line coach Aaron Kromer, Ball State head coach Pete Lembo and Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco.

Here's the sobering comment:

The problem that Bates is now facing is the competition from other schools such as Tennessee, Purdue, California and Colorado, all who are also looking for coaches, often tapping the same pool as BC.

Good lord I hope Babcock has been working the phones since last week on contigency plans, so we're not left starting things from scratch if Jones goes.

He has been a head coach for 12 years or something like that. Also an East Coast guy, played college football at Georgetown.

The Boston College job is an awful job now. Their program has fallen off the face of the earth. Their facilities (at least when I went up there a few years back) absolutely suck. They are in the absolute worst part of the country for bringing in talent. Honestly, that list is as good as they are going to be able to attract.

BC should have not fired Jagodzinski for interviewing.

I totally agree. Terrible move on their part and a terrible hire to follow it up.

I disagree with that completely and you give the Big 10 way too much credit.

I never said anything about the B10. IF you can name a head football coach from those five programs I listed above who left voluntarily for another coaching job, I'd like to hear it.

Pat Forde is reporting that Bret Bielema is leaving Wisky for Arkansas

Wonder if Butch has time for his agent to get his name in there?

I'm ready for some Irish Whiskey (a nice 12 year old glass of Bushmills) at this point. I've had enough of this drama. Please let it end soon.
