OT: Words that are commonly misused on Internet message and chat boards.
You're is short for you are.
Your shows that something belongs to you or is related to you (e.g., your car, your father).

http://www.grammar-monster.com/easily_co...e_your.htm

And don't blame the misuse of "you're" and "your" because you are (or you're) posting on a internet message board.

"Coog'ed it"

Means you blew a big lead/sure thing...not that you struggled from the get-go.

Birth and berth. Birth is the act of being born and berth is a position.

I don't know why we're even doing this, people will just prefer to be wrong.

And since this is a sports board, I get tired of people referring to teams in BCS AQ conferences as BCS teams. All of FBS is BCS.

not to put too fine a point on it, but if you're expecting proper grammar on the internet, you're in the wrong place. it just doesn't live here.03-lmfao

in fact, I think the internet may speed the undoing of the entire language, but that's a completely different conversation.

"Tough road to hoe" Damn right it's tough. They paved that thing.

Resign vs. Re-sign.

That one drives me crazy.

Another one that is almost too stupid for words, I've actually seen multiple people use "granite" in place of "granted" as in "granite we may not have played a great game, but we found a way to win."

For all "intensive porpoises" "there" sports fans and aren't "intirely" the brightest and that "road to a ho is tough". "Granite" it's what it is.
