Sorry, New Orleans is garbage. That has to be the worst city in the country. It is infested with crime. If it weren't for its storied past, it would be insignificant.

Few places better represent America than New Orleans. The birth place of Jazz(one of the only true American art forms) the birth place of some of the best food that is American born, and the cultures born out of New Orleans are a perfect embodiment of the American melting pot.

Love the city.

MTPiKapp, thanks for the kind words about the Big Easy, but your sentiments are wasted on Funslinger. His hatred of Tulane and New Orleans is a constant theme in his posts and has been for a long time.

MTSU is a great athletic program and will enjoy a lot of success in the years to come. Congrats on getting the promotion to C-USA.

I should add that I say all that as a diehard Falcons fan an ardent Saints hater. Still can't say a bad word about the city and Falcons/Saint is probably the most quietly underrated rivalry in the NFL.

Good luck to Tulane in the Big East, sad I won't be making trips to New Orleans in conference play in C-USA.

Most Memphis fans thought MTSU should have been invited after we left...glad to see the rest of the conference is coming around.

I love Nashville...would be there now if my wife could find a decent job there.

There's a very outspoken few that have nothing but negative things to say about us, appreciate the kind words.

I hope that we sign another series in football in the not too distant future. Don't get me wrong, playing 7 out 8 years, I think we'll both be ready for some fresh blood on the OOC schedule, but it's a series I'd like to revisit sometime next decade perhaps.

If you spend long enough over there, you'll find someone to hate anything.

Some Memphis fans look at MTSU the same way UT fans look at us. The reality is, since we've rekindled the series, you guys have taken 4 of 5 (I don't care what happened up to 1954...it's irrelevent). I'm hoping that since we went and got ourselves a real coach we can take the next few.

Anyway, enjoy CUSA and enjoy the camaraderie among the fans here.

04-cheers

I'm pretty excited about MTSU also, solid add. I've had one of their women, 7 out of 10 but didn't bring in the bedroom. Tell your ladies to step up.

haha...

I'm not sure one woman out of nearly 25k undergrads in any given year is a large enough sample. Maybe you just need to do more research...

Katrina came awfully damn close to doing it. As a tourist town, New Orleans is cool. Great music scene for jazz. Gotta love Mardi Gras even though I have never been to one. But Nashville is a cleaner and safer city with a great music scene and plenty to do there as well.
Nashville =/= Murfreesboro

But MTSU is a great add for C-USA. I thought they were the premier program in the SBC for a while now and was frankly confused when they weren't added earlier this year. But now they're in and I am sure they will be great for C-USA.
I have spent a lot of time in the Nashville area. Murfreesboro may not equal Nashville but they are only @ 45 minutes apart. Not a bad trip from stadium to hotel. Great weekend for MU fans.

stAte is 45 minutes from Memphis(as close as MTSU is to Nashville) and we have tons of alumni living there, so do you guys think C-USA would consider?01-ncaabbs

MT is 25-30 minutes from Nashville. Anything anyone else says is stupid or going 45 mph on I24. That said, I think stAte should be considered right after WKU.

I think Middle Tenn. will be a fine addition to CUSA. An excellent area to visit and a solid program. I don't understand Funslinger's fear of New Orleans. There are some troubled spots in New Orleans, but not so where the visitors gather. There are many other enjoyable social areas around New Orleans other than the French Quarter. I know for a fact New Orleans is a much more fun and interesting place to visit than Hattisburg.

No offense to any other school, but MTSU should have been selected earlier. They have the second largest student enrollment in the State of Tennessee, are in an important and growing Nashville media market, and enjoyed success in men's and women's basketball and football. And it is a fun trip for visiting fans.

This is true.
I live in South central Nashville, and can be at MTSU in 30 minutes.

As the old saying goes, new orleans is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there . . . Unless my health insurance covered rehab, perhaps.
