Which market is which between FIU and FAU?

FIU carries the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale market while FAU carries the Boca Raton/West Palm Beach market.

I hope you are right. Would like to see UAB, Marshall, Charlotte, and ODU go with what is left of the Big East and start a sensible conference. The best thing that could happen between now and July is the Big East basketball boot out football.

Fish is pretty close.

I would split this way.

Miami-Dade FIU (Local TV stations, and Print)
West Palm Beach FAU (Local TV statinos and Print)

Broward is probably a 70/30 split in favor of FAU for print coverage. The Sun-Sentinel has a full time FAU beat writer.

CUSA will have ganed almost the entire S.Florida media market with this move.

Wouldn't mind those two one bit.

welcome Owls!!!

I have a feeling MTSU and FAU will not be the only ones.

I think CUSA may be going for two more.

We could have done a lot worse. Hope Tulsa and UTEP hang around.

I wouldn't bet on it now and I wouldn't blame them for leaving.

A lot of earlier posts were talking about Banowsky wanting to go to 16. If the do maybe Texas State, Ark State or NUI will be invited then? I know you liked Texas State but with ECU gone the east needed help in the form of teams that could play next year.

I think that would make more sense... and have UTEP, Tulsa, etc. join with BSU and SDSU for the MWC. But of course very little about this realignment makes sense. We will see.

I would like this scenario too. We just have to wait this 01-rivals storm out and see what happens.

Not sure we could convince anyone to join this heap of garbage at this point. Maybe New Mexico State and Idaho out of sheer necessity?

Howard is crazy Owls fans kinda look at him like the crazy Grandpa that talks about waking up hill 15 miles both ways everyday.
I loved the Belt but now that MTSU lest we had no choise and am very happy to be in C-USA I make a lot of trips so I am very excited to play USM UTEP ETC. and us and FIU is a good rivalry game for the confrence.
And FAU is a growing school our student body is over 30k and are non stop at adding anything and everything to our campus. P.S Boca Raton is Beautiful.

We've already put enough eggs in the "potential" basket.

Come on guys... I remember a lot of people b******' and moanin' about us bringing "move-ups". The indication being they weren't good enough to be here (looking at ODU and Charlotte). I didn't agree with it then and I don't think we should jump on FAU. We are doing what we have to do. This makes a lot of sense. I think ODU, Charlotte, FAU and MTSU will be great additions. I have to.

Does CUSA not have enough clout anymore to go for some MAC teams?

RE: FAU to C-USA...
Thanks for the warm welcome friends!
While I was in favor of staying in the SBC, I'm excited to see the fastest bowl winning start-up prorgam college football history move to another conference. Our basketball team, headed by Mike Jarvis, has been making waves in the SBC the past few years, and we'd like to extended our winning ways into CUSA. Uour basebal program is the most successful here at FAU, and we are excited of this new challange, to see if we can continue our baseball dominance in a different conference.
You will find us FAU fans to be true and fair. Most of us are humble in victory and defeat. If you want to know anything about our students, athletics, culture, facilities, and community, please ask! We are very proud of who we are and where we come from. And would love to share the history of our school with you!
As for FIU, thanks. I guess we're even now? 04-cheers

We've never had that clout. We tried to add MAC teams after the first exodus but they wouldn't come. Most of the MAC schools are happy with what they have. Personally, I'd rather be associated with teams that want to move up.

Old Dominion hasn't done anything (literally) to help or hurt C-USA yet. Yeah, you should've kept this whine to yourself.

The AP is fairly certain about MTSU: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ap-source-m...ncaaf.html

I've seen nothing 'officially official' about FAU, but pieces from ESPN and CBS Sports mentioning both schools seem solid:

Welcome to C-USA I am probably one of the only Miner fans that want them to stay.It is good to have both Florida schools.Looking forward to both the Miners and ODU playing against your schools.
