So if this happens, (and it appears likely) can we call the Rice vs FAU game "The best of the Nest"?

I said on the main CR board that I think this is as much to kneecap the SBC as anything else. Locks them out of Florida....

MAYBE this is what the West members want..... they think So Miss and UAB are better additions than anyone they could add out there. At same time, maybe UAB and So Miss are saying "hey, we'd rather play la tech, rice, utep, tulsa as opposed to charlotte, odu, and such."

I don't know, just thinking here. I could see why So Miss would want to do that. I could see why the western part of the conference would prefer them!

It will have to be a night game.

I'll take Southern Miss any day. Those games (football, basketball, and baseball) are among my favorite ones in our time in C-USA.

Thats a good point. USM getting the W teams over two starts ups and the two FLA schoos is advantageous to them.

I actually don't know much about FAU, so maybe I should do a little research before being too critical of their inclusion. I'm an ODU guy and we just started FB not that long ago, so I'm sure some of the bigger schools in CUSA felt that us coming in is more a move about potential than what we actually are right now (we're having a great season in FCS, but will have an uphill climb as far as being competitive in FB goes). If the same can be said about the FLA schools then I shouldn't have a problem with it.

That's how I feel about certain CUSA programs too but it's all coming to an end I'm afraid.

We were the fastest start-up program to get a conference title and fastest start-up to get a bowl bid and bowl win, which we are 2-0 in.

C'mon dude. Seriously? You are best to not get into a comparison match with ODU. ODU simply blows FAU away. Its not even close. They have fans, the facilities, location. They got it all. I'm not as upset over the FAU add over the MTSU add but none of this is making any sense.

Welcome! I might can actually make a FAU game for cheap having friends in Ft. Lauderdale to stay at! Nice and even better excuse to visit them and hopefully maybe catch FAU and FIU games in a weekend.

East: Marshall, ODU, Charlotte, UAB, FAU, FIU, MTSU
West: USM, LaTech, Rice, NT, UTSA, UTEP, Tulsa

We could have done a lot worse. Hope Tulsa and UTEP hang around.
