RE: Tulane to Big East
I'm not saying that I like it but Tulane's entry shouldn't surprise anyone. As an all-sports candidate, they probably fit the NBE model more than any other available school.

If nothing else, I hope this allows Memphis to slide into Rutgers' spot in the east.

Why is an ETSU fan on here talking about an add to the BE? Go home, doesn't concern you.

So a sports fan can't discuss realignment and its' financial ramifications? Who I support isn't Germaine to the situation. What does matter is all the new guys got sold a bill of goods and some programs are going to get hung out to dry. I don't agree with it personally, no way Tulane is deserving based on their on field/court production, not when there are programs out there who can actually help the Big East with on field winning.

@JFowlerCBS: Tulane joining Big East, per source. Should be finalized today.

also- I did forget about Cincy.

East right now- say one of UConn/Louisville gone:
UConn/Louisville
Cincy
Temple
UCF
USF

West right now-
Houston
SMU
Tulane
Memphis

if so, would need 3 more teams....
west I'd guess Tulsa a lock.
east- ECU?

Boise and SDSU are included until it is officially said other wise. no reason to expect them to leave. Its still a better place and more profitable then the MWC, not to mention the fee to leave now that they've accepted. Therefore this is what I would expect.. hopefully.

UConn/Louisville
Cincy
Temple
UCF
USF
Memphis

West right now-
Houston
SMU
Tulane
Boise
SDSU
Fresno/Tulsa

That's what the realignment board is for, nothing wrong with discussing it there.

Well, apparently you don't know as much about expansion as you think you do. Expansion isn't about winning games and winning percentage. If so, you think the B1G would have taken Rutgers and Maryland. Its about markets and money. Winning has NOTHING to do with it anymore.

Y'all do know this this means the non football schools are about to break away. No way Aresco risks keeping them happy and invite Tulane who draws about 500 people to their games at a high school gymnasium.

Hell, ECU would have been a dream upgrade compared to TULANE. 03-puke

I think actually the opposite. Tulane fits the BE profile to a T.

no, we do not know that. you are speculating. Tulane last year wasn't far off from Houston or SMU attendance numbers. Rutgers and providence doesn't draw 20k a game for bball. Just stop dude. the bball schools will still make more money in the BE than anywhere else. ultimately, $$$ runs the show now day. nothing else matters, which is apparent in expansion/realignment.

That new Tulane stadium looks like it's about the size of a D2 school stadium. Lord have mercy how far the Big East is about to fall. All thanks to fat rich men and football.
