No, i got the the heart of it. It's all about expectations. Folks had them. And this is "for a change". Last year I KNEW we were doomed from the start of the season before we snapped the ball.

This year I didn't honestly know what to expect. I know that I hoped we would beat our rivals Troy, USM, and Memphis, but the only game I really expected us to win was the SELA thing. This year is for benchmarking and feeling out our new situation.

We're starting pretty low, but then again, who honestly thought we were any higher? Callaway had our program up on blocks in the yard. I'm not surprised with the results so far this year.

I actually see reason for optimism. I fully believe we will challenge for a bowl next year and if we get one I would say that it happened "sooner than I thought" just like coach said when he arrived.

The sky is STILL not falling in Blazerland.

Isn't it normal for us Blazers to be sunshine pumpers & that the team will be bowling this year & then our hopes are dashed in the OOC part of the schedule then we have hope they'll turn it around as we're just getting to the conference schedule only to have our hopes dashed again? Isn't that how it's been since Watson????

OK, how about this:

Why don't we giving him at least the same benefit of the doubt that we gave the sorry coach he replaced. Hell, McGee's already won 50% more games than him in his first season and the thing isn't even over yet.

I think what is trying to be conveyed is frustration at the inconsistent games, and questionable calls (not replacing an injured, under performing player)

We all want to believe in long term success and hopefully this can be done with less pain than the Memphis game

Definitely expected wins against Memphis, Tulane, SELA & East Carolina thought we could take Tulsa, and that Marshall and Southern Miss would be the toughest conference hurdles to clear. The schedule was to me, advantageous for UAB to at least become bowl eligible this year and enjoy some level of early success. Will be much harder to get 6 wins next year. Especially if lessons from this season have not been learned.

C-USA games will become easier next year. Losing SMU, Houston, UCF... 3 of our buggest thorns.

1. People here are butthurt about UAB not winning the games they had inked-in based on past Watsonian History.
2. It's coach's first season and he's already better than "coach" Call-away.
3. We have shown flashes of brilliance at times during this season despite the young team owing ONLY to coach and his new culture (never mind the random fail that was, after all, expected).
4. Yes, we don't have a QB right now and whether or not AB can be that QB in the future is not specifically our problem, it's coach's problem; he being, after all, the one "drawing the salary" and on the clock...
5. I for one am losing faith in my fellow Blazerfans moreso than the team. I think YOU ******** are part of the problem. You don't know when to fire a ****** coach and you don't know when to let a good one get his feets wet.
