One of the high schools in Texas is going to make a bid to host the NCAA's FCS Nation Championship Game...enough said.

Those high schools probably have 50k seat stadiums.

Go ahead and google "Allen (TX) High School Stadium" and click pics and it will become pretty clear...

That is pretty insane, but it is still smaller than the stadium where it is currently held. Does The Championship game usually sell out? The Allen, Texas stadium seats 18,000. Frisco holds 23,500.

Can you imagine spending $60 million on a high school football stadium? We are busy arguing about spending the money to build a multiuse arena to house an NBA team.

High school football is a different animal in Texas.

If you had any questions about the amount of respect and even acknowledgement that FCS football gets, I was listening to Scott Van Pelt on ESPN today and he was talking about the Big East basketball teams splitting off from the football. He said the "basketball only schools, like Gonzaga, 'Nova, Duquesne, and Georgetown need to get together and get the Big East basketball to split from football, because they don't even play football." He didn't say, "Don't play FBS football," or, "Don't play Division 1A football." He said, "DON'T PLAY FOOTBALL." He does not even KNOW that Villanova, Duquesne, and Georgetwon HAVE football teams, much less care about them or what they do. Villanova not only HAS a football team, but they have a National Championship! People outside of the FCS don't know and don't care about FCS football. It doesn't even count to them. According to SVP's definition, I guess ODU doesn't play football. Since, we aren't really PLAYING basketball this year, what else is there? You have to be FBS to have a shot at any sort of relevancy.

Many bars in Charlotte stream ESPN3 games all the time....

I've watched Charlotte basketball games at bars that were streamed and I've also seen a few Appalachian State football games being streamed from ESPN3 at bars.

No clue. Maybe they sent one to each of the teams that finished at 6-2 in conference.

Did they get one for 4 way tying for 2nd... uhh 1st place? Who brought the orange slices?! =]

If I were a Towson fan (or a fan of any other 6-2 team right now), I'd feel a little stupid getting this trophy (especially if I didn't make the playoffs). Kind of like those little league participation trophies.

Someone should tweet him asking where the asterisk is on the trophy

FCS semi-final attendance.

GaSo @ NDSU attendance 18,484. Fargo Dome Capacity 19,000

SHSU @ EWU attendance 7,615. Ross Field Capacity 8700 (normal) 12,000 for football with temporary bleachers.

Neither was a sellout for a national semi-final on a non holiday weekend.

I heard on a National Radio Show this morning about the RED Football Field up at Eastern Washington. They were making fun of it and the FCS level. One guy said his wife saw it and said they painted it red for Christmas. It is bush league and we are so much better for moving on.
