RE: OFFICIAL THREAD OF ELECTION 2012....
Regressives have to look at this and be terrified. The demographics are only going to continue going away from them. If they couldn't win this year.. how in the world are they going to win going forward unless they drastically change their policies?

Probably the last time we ever hear gay marriage be an issue. Roe v. Wade.. never again. Health Care.. a given. Immigration? Maybe another round, but let's be real.. that one's a losing issue for the GOP already.. probably time to move on from that one too.

Time to vote 3rd party continuously. Seriously this two party system is the worst thing to ever happen to America. We have a President who hates America and a people that wants handouts. One party has no backbone and alienates their base while the other hates God outright.

Romney camp is saying Ohio shouldn't have been called. Obama's down to less than 1000 votes. Could be desperation but there are some big swaths of Republican votes out.

Hello $22 billion deficit!!!!

Our kids will have 60% of their paychecks taken by the government. If I had stock in the USA, I'd sell.

Leave God out of government policy altogether and you have healed a big chunk of what is wrong with the GOP. *cough* Akin *cough* Mourdock *cough*

Agree. I'm a registered independent but can't make myself vote for the GOP mostly because of social and science issues. Legitimate rape....gift from god...Jesus this...god that...denying evolution. Ugh I can't vote for values like that. Move more toward the left on social and science issues and I might vote for you.

$22 billion is a lot better than $22 trillion. Glad you've come to your senses 03-wink

Think Obama still wins but him only being up by less than 1000 with 1/3 of the vote still out and them calling it I think is premature.

Two ran under the GOP banner this cycle: Gary Johnson, Ron Paul.

Both would DESTROY Barry. Both have proven that if they can get past the primary, they do MUCH MUCH better in the general election.

I said win the party's nomination and win the election. Neither of these two got close to winning the party nomination. Who would you have picked that can do both?

As crazy as it sounds I would've easily voted for Santorum or Newt. I would've bit my tongue in the process tho. Jon Hunstman as well.

Alabama just re-elected Roy Moore Chief Justice of the State Supreme Court. He's a zealot and a fool. I wouldn't care that he's a religious fella if he'd remember it ain't his job to dictate it to me.

The only reason why they didn't win the nomination was because the establishment Republicans took it upon themselves to alienate Paul and all of his supporters. That could very well be the difference there.

Much ado about nothing. Cuyahoga county is part of what's out so not enough republican votes out to cover they think.

There's nobody who can do both. By the time you get through pandering to the religious right to get the nomination, you are unelectable in the general. Women and young people beat Romney tonight, and those are demographics that will kill the republican party.
