I would have gotten popped. [Image: sport-smiley-005.gif] when he asked me if I wanted to coach, I wouldn't have been able to prevent myself from saying, "sure. what could go wrong? I couldn't possibly do worse than 0-5". 03-drunk

seriously, the young man is our starting QB. he doesn't need to risk suspension (or worse) by having a confrontation with the very people that are supporting him the most.

He won't be suspended. If you haven't noticed, he is fully in charge of this staff. Things are about to get a lot worse, wait and see.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk. Just misunderstood you. My bad, Stinkfist. Love your username.

I've never been to Hattiesburg before. Just from the pool table leaning over 12:20 thing I immediately thought bar. Anywayyyyyy,

Is he intimidating at all or just kind of a quarterback kinda guy? My coach growing up went to Marshall with Byron Leftwich. He shook Leftwich's hand one day and said something along the lines of, "You're one of the best quarterbacks I've ever seen, but damn you're slow." Leftwich just looked down at him and said, "I'd beat your ass in a foot race." and walked away haha.

this is it exactly. there is this weird riff underlying this thread that somehow stinkfist was a big wimp because he backed down. he didn't back down, and it isn't even about backing down. he realized that someone had to use his head, and quickly, or the thing was going to be a serious, serious issue for the team.

stinkfist did what he did to keep battery boy in the lineup tonight, and the team out of the headlines. and that is the last thing we need. Personally, I applaud his restraint.

no probs mate....to be honest, I am 6' 3", 220 at 47 yrs...he is small...he seemed like a kid that is dealing with something for the first time in his life....and most assuredly so...that is the crux of the matter...is why it is coaching...

Wasn't aimed at you, I was commenting to EagleX about AA risking suspension. Alford controls this staff, he could have punched you in the mouth and they would have moved heaven and earth to whitewash it. They thought he was going to pull them out of this, but they are beginning to realize that they are running in quicksand.

I missed the meaning on that one, too. you're saying that a player controls the coaching staff? holy crap.

thank you....b'cuz back in the day, I always got the first and last one in regardless of the outcome...I was dumbfounded to be honest and in no way would risk something negative that is much larger than myself or him...he is soooo young and may well being what we need...without proper guidance though, I am not optimistic....

This is our QB people....how times have changed

I bet your ass shut the f up didn't you? Fans, especially those that never played beyond high school, if that, love to throw rocks from the side line. It drives me crazy.
