at least we don't humiliate the conference. you guys won biggest midget for a few years and when faced with real teams let the sunbelt down!!!

we've only been at this a few years. we got shutout last year with 7-5. no biggie. we know we have to win the conference to even sniff a bowl. too many uncertainties about us. new program. below average attendance. you played games in your backyard and lost them.

ya'll was just crowin' about your bowl dominance and i asked a simple question what you did when you got there.

Beating Ohio in 2010 the MAC champ was a failure? Beating Oklahoma State in 07 was a Failure? Beating #17 Missouri was a failure? Beating Mississippi State was a Failure? List goes on and on.

As I remember UL was the only team in the conference that actually won a bowl last year and they nearly even lost.

Haha, all I did was respond to your assignment of "F" to Troy's bowl history, I did no bowl crowing at all. Like I said, if you weren't good enough to get there, you shouldn't make fun of those who do and lose. You gotta think, you got beat by Troy those years we lost to USM and #25 CMU. So if we're an embarrassment, what does that make you?

Here's an even better question: What grade should we assign to the program that holds the NCAA's longest losing streak? Or was that FIU? Or was that North Texas? You guys should get your own conference! Or a room! :sandy:

On a side note: I really do think WKU has a GREAT program. Would not want to see you guys leave. FIU and North Texas can go, not a big deal.

He has no leg to stand on in this Argument.....You guys were the let down the first 2-3 years when you went winless and was constantly on ESPN about being winless in 30something games. and your loss to crappy FCS was not very impressive.

2 of our 3 losses in bowls came down to the wire to VERY good football
teams.

And both of our wins were Blow Outs.

I will agree that Troy's bowl winning percentage isn't much to crow about, but they did certainly own the Belt for a long period of time. They are also the league's premier team as far as OOC wins are concerned (with MTSU being a close second with wins over Vandy, Maryland, GT).

I disagree about WKU not humiliating the Belt'. Up until this season, that is pretty much what we did. This is the first year since joining that we won any OOC games, last year us beating everyone but stAte actually hurt the Belt because it made everyone else look bad since they lost to a team that lost to Indiana State.

We are finally on the right track (though many of us WKU fans expect a derailment at any minute, our football fans have problems expecting success due to the eLLLLLLLson years). Barring a collapse, I think we go bowling this year. I know I plan on attending no matter where it is (even if it is Detroit).

The only other thing I will add is that past accomplishments are great for preseason rankings and beating your chest, but they don't effect this season one iota when it comes to play on the field. It will help with bowl selection, but your teams wins in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010 will not help this years team win more games.

I think it looks great. Way too many schools do not self premote enough. You get a lot of casual fans that never get too involved with football, religion or politics; they are just that way. Good to remind them what their school has done and when they did it. Helps visitors also and the players even a little. Makes some of those casual fans more ardent about their support in many cases. Might even make them open up their wallets a little more.

I am truly not trying to stir the pot here, but this is the same type of mess that WKU Basketball fans get hated for. We have more conference championships and NCAA appearances so does that mean no other team is allowed to make any comment regarding our men's basketball postseason success (good or bad)? I was under the impression that this was a discussion board.

There's bashing on both sides, lets not make this out to be an event in which Troy fans are the only ones invovled. Others instigate often and Troy fans respond, sometimes Troy fans do the instigating. He is allowed to express his frustration as much as anyone is allowed make a good or bad comment about Troy.
