I think a few of you might be suffering from short guy syndrome.
I love how you ignore USM's recruit list. I totally get what you're saying, yeah UA and AU are going to get a lot of the good recruits but there are still a ton here, and as time goes on eventually we will get 1-2 who just want playing time, even though they were offered by AU/UA. USM got to where they are by going after recruits they wanted, regardless of what schools had offered them and it worked out.
Bottom line is there are better players in this area, and more of them. And we get GA recruits, and FL recruits, etc.
You're the one over here on our forum clawing at straws trying to convince us your area has more potential for football (lol) than the region where the last 6 national championships came from. If anyone here is suffering from short man syndrome, its you my friend.

But please argue cases NICELY. I dont want it to develop into smack.
Right now CUSA fans for the most part have UTSA and Tstate as a wash.
MANY feel that ODU is better hat USA as is right now.
And the one that TRULY is blowing my mind is that UNCC is a better football program than GSU's when THEY DONT HAVE A TEAM YET.
We will see if Texas State and UTSA is a wash. We are going to smoke those birds!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is going to be ugly what Fran does to them.

Not to mention FCS success doesn't translate to FBS success, otherwise Marshall would have 9 NC by now. ODU rode a hot freshman Qb running a quick strike offense that caught most teams by surprise. It wouldnt surprise me to see them come back to earth and be sub .500. And if 757 is so damn good then where are all of the Va Tech and UVA championships?

Starting up isn't easy. ODU now is having issues with being able to afford home games because its stadium is too small http://hamptonroads.com/2012/08/impendin...bling-book
After a few years and once everyone's FBS, how well everyone's adjusted will be clearer.
ODU has some positives sure, but that article sure points out challenges.

This was somewhat self-inflicted. We could have made 2012 our first transition year as GSU did but would be ineligible for post-season play.
I don't think fundraising will be a long-term issue but you're right we are facing unique issues during transition. Here's another article regarding ticket prices/demand/community support

Are you talking about this year? That's crazy talk. FCS success may not translate into FBS success but FCS failure will certainly translate into FBS failure and GSU is about to get b*tch slapped by a bunch of CAA teams.

I don't think that Marshall was all that great in FCS football, they were OK. They may have been right when they were getting out of the FCS because they may have loaded up on extra players. Used to take longer to transition to what is now FBS. They were good in the MAC. I believe they were members of the MAC twice. Talking about the second time they were in the MAC. They literally killed the MAC the second time they were in it.

See in my mind ODU and USA are the two programs to compare. USA in my mind has a leg up due to a lil bit of a head start.
Now using your point about FCS success you can see that GSU is ahead of UNCC. Yes GSU has struggled and may very well continue to. But they are working out the kinks now. UNCC has NOTHING started and could very well be as bad as GSU was initially, which means they will not be relevant for a decade.

We beat USA last year. Nobody is ahead of anyone else. Nobody has played any FBS seasons yet for us to know who is ahead.

Thanks, I've heard different things. Some say we could bring the "calmshells" together but I don't know how well that would lend itself to an upper deck being added. The original stadium dates back to the 1930's and some say it's a historical site which would restrict what we could do but others say that's bs. So basically, I don't know.

RE: TState, USA, GSU to ARMS!
There isn't a lot of point in arguing who is "ahead" so dang early, anyway.
The triangle-of-fail between UTSA/GSU/USA last season proves start-ups are unpredictable and even if we weren't unpredictable, it would still be largely irrelevant in the long run because in 10 years, how we all did in our transition years probably won't even have mattered; we are still going to be behind the major established programs.
Sure, we might have some success and get to a bowl game or two in our first 10 years but we won't be on the block for USM/ECU-esque success for a decade or longer because we all need to build a strong football fan base.
Just my opinion.

Sorry, but I do not see the connection between the two schools. ODU has nothing to do with USA and vice versa. I wish them the best and I know South will succeed and personally I don't see them as ahead of USA.
