Enough about the fact that UNCC is a soccer school. Droves of the Black and Gold are flocking to Greenville to see the Pirates lose in 9 days!!

Lose at what? Is there like an alumni beer pong tournament before the game that you guys expect to win or something? Maybe a sack race? Certainly can't be talking about the football game.

If you watched the game, you'd know that at least 80% of the people there were Charlotte fans.

Watch between 1:15 and 1:30ish. It shows a pan of the crowd.
The announcers during the game made comments about our crowd dominance as well.
Would have been more, but we sold out all our buses.
Absolutely an impressive showing for a soccer game and no surprise that UNC brought nobody, but that's not even close to 8,000 Charlotte fans.
Not 8,000, but close.
Quote:Thanks to six busloads of Charlotte students and untold numbers of others making the six-hour drive from Charlotte, the 49ers probably had 7,000 fans among the 8,777 in attendance.

Certainly more compelling than the video that showed a cluster of 500-1,000 Charlotte fans, but nevertheless a homer "ball park" guess from writer wearing green glasses.
Douche, Scott Fowler is a UNC grad.
He has **** on Charlotte countless times in the past.

Yes, it was widely reported. You obviously don't get off the FCS boards often enough AppHole.

LOL at the thought of the Observer writing pro-Charlotte articles. They give zero sh*ts about us.

Why are you so confident? This is a sincere question. You're coming off a terrible year. Last time we played, you barely escaped by 5 when we played a 3rd string QB. That was a CUSA championship team we took to the wire. Now you're middle of the pack a best and you scoff at the idea of losing?
I don't EXPECT to win, but I certainly expect a good game. It all depends on our O-Line development. Both teams are loaded on defense. I expect a low scoring game for sure. I give us a 40% chance of winning. If I hear the O-Line is kicking ass and really coming along this week, I'll move it up to 60%.

It was reported/replayed many places besides the Charlotte Observer.

As of 3 days before the 2011 NCAA soccer cup, The TOURNAMENT had sold 7,000 tickets for the 2 day event. That includes semi-finals, and National Championship, and you guys are saying UNCC bought 7,000 of those tickets? I guess none of the other teams cared, or bought their tickets in advance.

Bonds, so long as ECU doesnt follow the Michigan pregame plan, the Pirates should be fine.
Michigan players high during 2007 ASU loss?

You're kidding.... David Scott's writing is the biggest load of homer BS I've ever had the displeasure of reading in that rag of a newspaper called the Charlotte Observer.
I get frustrated by the ACC hard on the paper has too, but don't act like UNCC is a true redheaded step child like App and ECU are.

Never would I pick App to beat ECU in a beer pong tournament. Out of the ECU grads I know, 90% did nothing but drink in their 4 years.
As a matter of fact, App State has now started a brewery to exploit that market.

Michigan players high during 2007 ASU loss?
So a non-name D-list blog poster mentions an unnamed source talking about unnamed athletes doing something with no hard evidence to support his claims. Sounds like some real reputable stuff right there.... I wonder why no major news sources are spreading it?
Seriously even if it is true, it's not as uncommon as you'd think. I read that Duke basketball players were high in certain games. It's no secret they overlooked us and thats why they lost, whether they were clear-minded or their eyes were as red as the devil's dick.
I still don't believe the story given the "evidence" that was mentioned though. This guy calls himself a journalist.

They Charlotte Observer isn't your home town paper. David Scott has a blog, most of that doesn't hit the paper. And a homer? He covers us, doesn't make us out to be anything we aren't.

NCAA lists the attendance at 8,777. It's hard to gauge the crowd from the video, but there was a lot of green. 8K is out of the question, 7K is probably a stretch, but any number below 6K-7K is hard to argue with. In the end, who the heck cares how many traveled to a soccer game, especially App State fans?
