GSU new Head Coach
This will be interesting, With their old Coach retiring after this coming season, who will GSU get as a Coach. I fully expect them to shell out a lot of money to get a good hire. GSU probably has much more spending ability than anyone in the Sun Belt potentially. They may even pay 900 or over a Million bucks a year for a good coach. We will see how serious they are.

Ehhhh, I don't know if they'll spend that kind of money... but who knows. I never expected ASU to shell out what they did for Malzahn.

Neither did ASU fans...in fact I still keep expecting someone to pop up and say "April Fools."

GSU has a lot more money than ASU does. Maybe not the fan base. But GSU has money.

Ah, I expect GSU to hire someone who will underachieve early-on. They want good football, but don't fully appreciate what it takes to secure that just yet at the FBS level.

The Color Cardinal is Eternal. 05-mafia My 10 month old son aleady bleeds it, God Bless him.

Depends on who this decision is left to. If our AD survives and the decision is put in her hands I am very afraid.

RE: GSU new Head Coach
I think GSU goes for the marbles and spends the money and gets a quality assistant from another program to take the team. Hiring a "has been" head coach to pick up the pieces won't happen, IMO. Too much is at stake. I truly believe the Panthers aspire to move to coosa in a couple of years if not sooner. The whole truth is unknown exactly why Coach Curry called it quits after 2012 and I pray it is nothing to do with a health issue.

RE: GSU new Head Coach
There's no need to spend $1,000,000 when $500,000 will get the same result. A new FBS program is not going to be able to hire an existing FBS coach away from another school. A high major assistant (or FCS) probably would leap at the opportunity for 500k. Malzahn was a special case and is being compensated accordingly.

His health is fine.

The truth will come out one day. For now its time to move on.

I'll enjoy winning games this year. Raising $3M a year in donations will be nice as well.

How naive to believe the moves are over forever.

LOL! The thing you should take away Saint is that I really dont care.

I dont obsess over Appalachian State's moves or non moves. I dont lay awake at night having butthurt over being left behind by UCF and USF or UAB. I do not care about your athletic department accounting. It really simply does not matter. Therefore you wont see me looking for Appalachian State posts just so I can make a snarky comment. But do carry on.

Your post would indicate otherwise. If you don't care put me on ignore, problem solved.

$3M is an accounting trick, wow you are naive.

See, I am posting in a Sun Belt sub board. Pure happenstance I guess that GSU is in the SBC and that I post here. Now one could wonder what prompts you to post on GSU threads. LOL.

Failing to see how I am naive but that could be my indifference. Who knows?

So anyways, back on topic?

RE: GSU new Head Coach
I dont think we are going to get anyone who has ties to the Atlanta area so I guess that leaves an ACC or SEC assistant or coordinator. Money will not be a problem. Frankly I would like to see our AD replaced first and THEN have us hire a HC.
