Hiring a "has been" head coach to pick up the pieces won't happen, IMO. Too much is at stake. I truly believe the Panthers aspire to move to coosa in a couple of years if not sooner. The whole truth is unknown exactly why Coach Curry called it quits after 2012 and I pray it is nothing to do with a health issue.

If the conference would take Georgia State in then we need to go independent again.
We already have too many low achieving wanna be's.

Glad that's what you got out of two total seasons of play.

It's not just the two years of playing football, it's the whole program.
Really do not think that Georgia State will even still have a football program in a few years.

Thanks for the ignorant view of what we're doing down here. Our athletics department has turned 180 from where it was and is putting a lot of resources towards this endeavor.

It's a good thing you're not running our AD. "Shut it down!"

Who was the last Div I football program in the deep South to drop football?

Funny, I can't think of even one. Can anyone name the last one?

I couldn't. If UAT is incapable of killing UAB football after 20 years I am going to guess that nobody drops football in the deep south.

Closest I could find was Lamar.
1973-1977 NCAA Division I
1978-1981 NCAA Division I-A

Here is a list of schools.

I say throw the money at Cutcliffe and get him away from Duke. He will bring quality recruits to GSU as he already knows the terrain of the recruiting region over there in the southeast. If he turns it down, throw the money at App. State's HC.

To be clear, the SBC picked the school that lost to NAIA Lambuth over you.
