It is funny that the 5 of 6 that moved on are in a lessor valued FB league than the 1. I will forever miss rivals VT and Pitt, and will be in spirit pulling for them to lose every outing.
I hope now this new version of the league will elevate my alma mater - Memphis.
Wait, if your alma mater is Memphis, why do you support WVU?
Birthright from generations gone, and grew up there; have many childhood memories of going to games in Morgantown. Ended up going to Memphis and would pull for the Tigers if ever head to head.

Always enjoyed WVU Football and enjoyed the Tailgating with the WVU fans here in both old Cardinal stadium and PJ's. Being in the same Conference became special with intense FB and BB games. Never a Dull moment and if We meet again down the road, hopefully I will be there. I'm a Fan of WVU Football, BUT NOT when WE Play You ! Good Luck and WIN the Big 12.

RE: Goodbye Big East
I was reading something today written by Bob Hertzel of the Times West Virginian that pretty much summed up why the original BEast didn't stay together, and why WVU didn't join the exodus to the ACC, along with the majority of our athletic rivals...
He reasons that WVU would have remained in The BEast, had the conference remained together. But when Pitt and Syracuse exited - The BEast was clearly failing and had no dynamic leadership - WVU couldn't remain any longer...
The BEast's biggest problem mostly was that there was really never much in common among BEast schools. The BEast was built on basketball, made for TV, and heavy on private Catholic schools with little in common with WVU...
The Big 12 has schools with a similar mission to WVU. It's not just a conference tied together by athletic threads...
And that pretty much sums it up...
Anyway, good luck with the upcoming season. I'll be keeping an eye out to see if you can make ESPiN look silly...
