I believe Marquette was ranked #2 at the end of the regular season that year. If the NCAA did seeds back in 1978, Marquette would have been a #1 seed. That Miami team had 3 Seniors drafted by the NBA (Randy Ayers, Archie Aldridge, and John Shoemaker). NBA draft in those years went 10 rounds (although there were fewer teams) so it was easier to get drafted.
