Another mediocre at best baseball season is coming to a close. It is obvious IMO we need to change something. What say you?

When an entire team can light it up against a much worse opponent, it ain't hittin that's the probelm. The whole freakin starting lineup is in a funk. Maybe BG could do something crazy with the lineup and have his "hot" hitters leading off. Put the #4 guy, batting #1, etc. Also, we seem to like to bunt, when we should be swinging away and swinging away when we ought to be bunting. We try to "manufacture a single run" while the other team is busy putting a string of hits together and going up 3,4,5 runs. This has come down to coaching IMO. The pitching has been brilliant, but how much more pressure can be placed upon those guys with no run support. We went from possibly #1 seed earlier in the season to shouldn't even make a regional. BG has never gotten us past a Super R, so it may be time for a change. I try not to be a fairweather fan, but ECU in the Big 3 sports has made it friggin impossible. UCF lighting us up. Swept and pounded by VCU. Split and pounded by UNCW. ETC>ETC>ETC. It's gone beyond ridiculous.

Not sure where my heart truly lies on this. Some changes need to come because obviously the Pirates are not getting it done.

I wasn't 100% sure until today. We are talking about a team that is playing for its post season life and they come out and look like total crap. Like they don't even care. I have said all year that accountability falls on each individual player but when more and more players look uninspired and their play falls off individually and as a team as the season goes on, the coach isn't doing his job. You can't go from knocking on the door of the top 25 to praying for a postseason birth in half a season without something going seriously wrong in the locker room/dugout.

It does appear like BG has lost this team.

now - call me crazy but shouldn't there be a large # of experienced baseball coaches out there! How much do the Minor leagues pay coaches?

Billy Godwin was the head coach for Louisburg College right? - I would imagine that our stadium, our support, and our program should be able to pull in a better coach than one from the junior college ranks.
