I'll take the bet. I doubt it'll happen, actually, but the possibility of it happening leads me to think of some creative things to put in there.

I will take the bet and a side bet that no ACC team wins a FB National Championship before 2019 to run their drought to 20yrs with no FB National Championship.

Hmm, interesting proposition. My heart wants GTS to be right. My head says FSU is interested, and maybe Clemson, at least, in spite of listening to Radakovich.

But Texas is obviously against it. We'll see how it plays out. The bet is fun, either way, but I'll abstain for now.

The ONLY variable that makes me wonder is the September 1, 2013 deadline.

If it was a few months later, then that's an easy bet. The September 1 deadline is pretty close.

Not to burst GTS' bubble, since this is his site, lol, but you guys do realize that, in order to win the bet against him, the ACC teams would likely have to be announced by June 30 of this year, to actually be able to "leave" for the B12 by September 1, 2013, right?

Actually, all they have to do is announce they are leaving by the deadline.

I'd like to denote the lack of people willing to take this bet .. particularly the biggest rumor mongers.

I believe August 15th is the deadline for ACC teams to announce a move effective the following season - as long as $20 million comes shortly after the announcement...

I'm not sure on that. But I do believe that was the date I saw mentioned by the ACC bylaws...

That's seems more than fair, then. That was my first impression, until I over-thought it. And in reality, anybody can announce at any time, not just June or August.
