Doesn't really say much. The Appy AD never even mentions that they've even have had talks with CUSA officials. Just mumbles on about how Boone has changed and that they now have new highways going into the location. One of the surprising things he says is that of the 26K average attendance Appy had last year, 10K of them were students. Kudos for the students coming out to support the team. That part is impressive. Unfortunately though, that means they really only have maybe 16K paying people that come to the games.

I got the sense that there was some desperation talk in that interview as well. Hopefully they get a shot in the Sunbelt, Mac or a re-built Wac.

Captive audience much? Impressive but what other Boone options are there?

Plenty if you are into outdoor activities, which a lot of App's students are.

I hope so. If this conference goes to 16-18, I could see it splitting in 3-5 years. The 14 we have now is plenty.

We're done for now. The only exception is if a team becomes available that has to much value to pass up.

Boone has a airport too now! We can add them and Lukla University!

Unfortunately, that's out of our control, as the Sun Belt or MAC could add Appy if they wanted. In fact, I'm willing to bet that Charlotte would be going to the Belt if we hadn't invited them.

Cobb has been interviewed by every media outlet that will talk to him about this. Watauga's Teachers College had a Sunbelt offer in hand over a year ago but said no thanks due to travel.

I don't feel sorry for him or the fans. I use fans lightly, they only have football fans. The rest of the athletics get no support.

meh. I only care about those teams in c-usa at present and those joining in 2013.
When the defectors leave, I will no longer give a 01-scout about them, either.

Why wait? I've already started not giving a COGS about them.

Selfish (UAB self interest) reasons. The better the defectors perform, the better SoS/RPI for UAB.
That being said, I hope both McGee and Haase straighten out our programs and we
can give each of them a good, old fashioned 03-nutkick going away present for 2012-2013.

You mean Basketball gets no support. Our Baseball team has filled the stadium all year.

Anywho, I'm ready for Cobb to jump off the CUSA jock for 10 seconds and secure a SBC offer. If he was parading around doing radio interviews about the MAC or the SBC, this whole waiting game would be over in a heart beat.

Y'all have already proven that you value size of adjacent markets to proven success and massive fan bases. What's more to talk about on the radio Cobb? Not to mention already having 2 CUSA schools in NC. He's making us look even more desperate than we actually are.

If ECU goes Big East, I have no desire to go CUSA anyway. Cobb needs to swallow a little pride and start talking seriously with these SunBelt folks. They'd love to have us and I bet they're tired of Cobb's complacency.

Did I mention there's no exit fee in the SBC? Yeah, a move like that could be as transient as UNCc fanship....
