Verlander doesn't care what the lineup looks like when he is on like today. I thought he settled in and pitched well.

RE: Tiger game thread
Per ESPN.com and their power rankings:

"The Tigers currently have seven starting position players with an OPS at least 50 points below their career averages (five are 100 points below). Only Austin Jackson (.907 to .736) and Andy Dirks (1.042 to .785) are outperforming their career marks."

That is a nasty recipe for disaster.

either a nasty recipe for disaster, or a sign that things will get better. depends on how you look at it.

Glass if always half full with me. You nailed that one :)

I'm always thinking it's time to rip off a ten game winning streak.

(but it still drives me nuts that they've performed so badly)

RE: Tiger game thread
I'm still convinced they're going to win the division and make the playoffs. My confidence in what happens then has taken a few blows.

As awful as they've been, they're 1 game out of the division lead. They could play this poorly for 140 games, rip off a couple ten game win streaks and win the division by a dozen as awful as it is. Basically what they did last year, except the streaks were next to each other in August and early September.

4 innings pitched
8 hits
5 earned runs

Sherzer needs to figure it out in a hurry.

It's about time we starting knocking the ball around the park...especially against Peavy.

valverde hurts himself with 2 out in the 9th, Dotel comes with a 3-1 count and walks them loaded. 10-6 tigers.

fixed that for you... only 2 of porcello's runs were earned. albeit he didn't look sharp, have 4 errors happen behind you doesn't help

Fister has given up 7 hits and 3 runs thru 3 innings...and we are getting no hit by some dude named PJ Walters.

Time to bust out the whooping sticks fellas. I've had enough of the Twins.

RE: Tiger game thread
the only thing that bothers me about they way they're playing is that NOBODY within the organization seems to be legitimately upset about it. I remember in '06 when we started 7-7 Leyland blew a gasket in the locker room post-game and it sparked that whole season. Something like that needs to happen
