Yep, apparently some USM folks thought it would be funny to start a "Where's your green card?" chant when KSU's Angel Rodriguez was on the court. For the record, he's from Puerto Rico which is part of the United States.

I think it was 'The Pride of Mississippi' who started the chant.

i was wondering when this would be posted. really sucks they did that. embarrases USM and the state of mississippi.

I hear some people chanting it but I can't see who they are.

Really disappointed in the Pride Band that started that chant... I thought they would know better.. of course, now we'll have to hear the bull-crap racist claims about our university for a entire year because of their stupidity.

It should only be embarrassing because they were too dumb to realize Puerto Rico is part of the US. People are too damn sensitive.

yeah it was pretty stupid but at least it was only one or two idiots and not the whole group. its probably safe to say they'll be removed from the band. usm cant help what a couple morons decide to do. i think usm will just get slammed for a couple days then it'll blow over. most college kids are still pretty immature afterall

Unfortunate. But you can't label on an entire pep band, fan base, or school, based on the actions of a few idiots.
