Worst attempt to hide a spoiler I've ever seen 03-lmfao

When you hit last post, your post is the first seen.

There is enough space that once you see spoiler you can scroll away.

lol, not unless you're using a monitor from the tandy days. If on a phone, then yeah may be true. But this "spoiler" only took up about half of my screen so no avoiding it

He forces other communities to work for him, not to mention the people that were killed in this episode were neither Rick's groups, Alexandrians or even the Hill Toppers.... they were from another group.

If that was the reason you believe the show to be poorly written, you apparently didn't understand the depth of what was occuring.

With that said, if The Walking Dead was shot from Negan's point of view, then his actions might be entirely justified. However, Negan kills ruthlessly and uses a barbwire wrapped baseball bat to bash the skulls in of his victims. His organization is large and ruthless, which makes him the most dangerous advesary they have faced so far.

Maybe writing and structure are somewhat different, but the two major cliffhangers this season seemed like cheap gimmicks. Especially removing Yeun's name from credits earlier was (to my knowledge) unprecedented by this show. And just cheap. Clickbait cheap. If this turns out to be Glenn (and I think it will - he delivers 3 blows no other single character can deliver to promote other future comic book plots such as Maggie becoming a leader, also actor may have scheduling conflicts) this finale likewise is a cheap clickbait gimmick. I'll still probably watch which rewards the trolling by the showrunners, so perhaps I should rethink that.

There were good moments, but I dont think they had enough good writing for 16 episodes this season. 16 is tough. Id love to see a flashback to Negan's origins.

I guess you hate Game of Thrones for cheap writing or Lost for cliffhanger gimmicks?!!
I also thought this was one of the better seasons of the shows run.
Other than the frustrating one-off to Morgan's back story while Glen's status was in the air, I thought this season was incredible.

As for the horribly done spoiler reveal in this thread, I just don't think Abraham would carry the weight. However, it does make sense and there are clues to that fact throughout the season.

Ok, hate is a strawman since I never mentioned, nor do I, hate TWD. And I snipped a couple posts bc it's getting lengthy. Lost was meh after the first season or 2, novelty wore off, imo. I never really geeked over it the way I have other shows. And if GOT removed an actors name for a couple episodes purely to troll audiences, I would be as disdainful of that strategy as with TWD. And while I admire the complexity of the GOT production, running 3 or 4 simultaneous productions at the same time, the pacing can be plodding. I give it a bit of tolerance since it tries to achieve so much in 1 hr, with the numerous parallel and, until lately, largely nonintersecting storylines. GOT week to week is often unbearable. But it has to cover 3 or 4 times the subject matter than TWD. If I binged it I bet I could get through it easier.

Abraham would be a pretty big departure, but in defense of that theory, or at least in opposition to mine, I saw a Hardwick mock gameshow where Kirkman mentioned Glenn getting Lucilled, so that gives me perhaps my only pause in my conviction that it would be Glenn. I dont think he'd be as direct if it was so cut and dry, he'd try to employ some subterfuge and trickery, hopefully better than the credits gimmick. The cheap. Credit. Gimmick, lol. Ok, that was a bit cheap on my part.

But Abraham's death, if alone, doesnt really damage optimism, doesnt help Maggie become a future leader (unless that storyline were to change too, which it might, to Sasha or Carol or both Glenn and Maggie). His death might be equal in personal pain to Rick as Glenns would have been, though. As far as I have seen posters here have covered up the source of that spoiler. It could be right, though.

Hey, maybe there'll be two deaths, like when Tdog and Lori kicked it.

RE: The Walking Dead on AMC (warning: spoilers inside)
Apologies for my overreaction, but my point was (other than the name being removed) many popular shows have used siminlar cliffhangers.

I think TWD has gotten away from the formula that made it so successful in the first couple of seasons, which was the dilema of what type of society should we be as opposed to what type of society must we be. They have been down that road, so some of that tension has diminished. I think this season, the introduction of Negan, allows for a potential rehashing of that debate, as the results of some of their actions (recklessly attacking the Saviors) comes back to haunt them.

I also think the tv show is on a course to depart from the comics in a more wide manor this season, but that could just be an educated guess.

Admittedly, I am a huge fan and passionate about it, so while I LOVE to debate and discuss, civility is not always my strongest suit during some discussions.

I agree that Abraham doesn't carry the weight of "holy $%(* they killed them!"

It's going to be one of the core group. Rick and Carl are safe imo so it's going to be Michonne, Glenn, Maggie or Daryl. My money is on the last two.

Not sure I will be a faithful watcher anymore.

while I can understand the sentiment, it would have been worse (from a show perspective) to have all that lead up just to kill off a basic nobody.

From a character perspective, I hate who is gone. Part of my group of faves. But this action will lead to complete new directions for multiple characters and will be interesting to see how they handle that.

RE: The Walking Dead on AMC (warning: spoilers inside)
I binged watched season 2 up until the premiere Sunday night.

I'm fine with everything. It's a post apocalyptic world and therefore it's brutal and violent.

Men like Negan emerge and do ruthless things.

I'm interested to see where it continues.

Keeping fan favorites alive doesn't necessarily make for good storytelling and neither does letting Rick and his group 'win' all the time either.

TWD has a nice hint of realism for a show of such absurd subject matter.

Right.

The show has a true hint of realism to it...a year or so after the zombie outbreak, this is what the world is turning into...brutal men doing brutality...I for one hope they don't soften their touch just because of the reaction of some...keep pushing the envelope and keep pushing forward...

I mean, let's face it - the show is about the zombie apocalypse and the breakdown of society and law...there isn't (shouldn't at least) be a happy ending at all.

That's exactly where Glenn died in the comic books, so not a big surprise. It builds Maggie's character, who becomes very important later.

Rick still has two arms, I'm pretty sure he was sporting a hook by this point but the show probably doesn't want to do the special effects.

Abraham was already dead by this point.

Except Abe was killed later than the comics (the nurse(?) took his kill) and Glenn was the issue 100 kill that happened Sunday night.

I stopped reading after Glenn died.
I read a little after that, but have no idea who the tiger dude is.

Watching Sunday night was horrible. I figured Abraham was the target, but was shocked after that.
Extremely gruesome tv.

1.5 million people bought pet rocks.

Read and still read the comics. Gave out on the show a while back. I have it on my dvr but haven't watched in several seasons. I have less and less time and there are so many well written shows right now with great actors and actresses.
