[split] Phil Sheridan: Temple needs to say no to Big East

How exactly does he propose that the Owls' will get ahead of the conference realignment curve.....instead of being afterthoughts? Did I miss the ACC or Big 10 invite? 05-stirthepot

The worst thing Temple could do is jump at the chance to join a Big East that just doesn't exist anymore. This is the Owls' chance to get ahead of the conference realignment curve instead of being afterthoughts.

He has a good point, though: Teams joining the Big East now are not joining what we've known as the Big East. We are now the true Conference USA, and at that level.

I know you try hard, God love ya...but the understanding you have of sports could maybe fill a thimble. Have you tried to read some books on the subject? May help...

this is so dumb....and funny at the same time

somehow a conference with gtown, nova, Cincy, UCONN, UofL, etc is "dead" and "CUSA V2.0"....only moron's with an agend would say/believe this.....like some on here, that say, sell avon on the side and wear skirts....

Oh gimme a break... they're going to get ahead of realignment in the MAC or CUSA/MWC?

The Big East is far from CUSA... just because schools played somewhere else, doesn't mean they're the same programs now.

Every school in every conference was somewhere else at some point -- so that argument is SAD!

99.9% of us know this and understand it...

the minority that don't get it are either fans of schools on the way out, or that sell avon and root for USF/gtown supposedly

Really? Someone should tell that to Notre Dame, Georgetown, Louisville, and the rest of the crew...

I was thinking about football, not basketball, and 2 of the 3 teams you mention contribute nothing to BE football.

Maybe quo's referring to the C-USA that got six teams into the NCAA tournament in 04-05. I mean, that's still underselling the BE, but at least it's closer to reality.
