Just my opinion.
Since you don't have a dog in the fight as you suggested... Then we don't need your opinion......
I want his opinion. Speak on ST!
lol nah - I'm a defector fan. I couldn't possibly give an opinion that isn't jaded with a secret desire to see CUSA fail and maximize suffering for each school.
Of course Alliance members are going to be prone to thinking the probable outcome will be the best...it just doesn't add up...

the MAC trembles at the thought of competing against a mish-mashed, frankenstein conference full of picked over teams.
thanks for the laughs.
Congrats, Ohio is now 2-10 against Marshall in the last 12 meetings. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

All trolling aside, I am all for the alliance.
Think about it. You're merging two organizations with pretty respectable products and combining them into one that will offer TV networks the best of both worlds. Sure, each conference will have the bottom-feeders, but what's not to say the increase in TV revenue won't positively impact the development of their programs?
In addition, you also have some pretty formidable basketball. If Southern Miss and L.E. keep it up, they have a chance to be the Memphis of the new league. You'll also have UNLV, UNM, and such, but Southern Miss can match up well with any of them on any given day.
I'm actually kind of excited for the remaining programs (non-BE). We don't know yet how each conference (both new alliance and BE) will develop, but the schools that were "left behind" might actually end up being in a better product than our current C-USA situation.
Credit the commissioners and brass at the C-USA and MWC schools for thinking in a proactive rather than reactive manner.

Central has to make comments on anything we do. I still think that the Alliance should not go by the BE idea of TV market and go after the traditionally best winning football teams we could get if we add anyone. Don't care where they come from but we need a couple of schools that could actually become Boise States, and it would make the conference fantastic and elevate everyone else's football also.
