RE: New OC
I like the Mangino idea. Has one a National Championship as an OC and has prior head coaching experience. Don't see him coming to work for someone who has worked for him though, although it would be a good way for him to break back in and try and heal some of the negatives about him.

Time will tell, I just don't see us shooting this high.

or good ole Joe Novak from NIU?

just let it go, you have made your point countless times already. you don't need to bring it up in every single one of your posts.

Did Novak do anything to you personally? otherwise there is no reason for you to defame any person so much
He's a troll plain and simple. I'd ban him, but then people would be pissed and say we are banning people who don't like Novak.

To be fair.. he's legitimately just a troll. He's not adding to the conversation, he just's a bitter *******. There were some legitimate gripes against Novak if he really wanted to add to the message board., (in my opinion, off the cuff, his reluctance to go to a nickel or dime defense against Toledo and BGSU's spread for example).

My choice:

I'd be good with Z too. Or Cole for that matter.

Beatty's not likely to Fleck U of I. That school down the road continues to be a pain.

I'm sure Roy Wittke will apply. He's been an offensive coordinator for something like 20 years, he was here before and I believe he's unemployed at the moment due to the coaching change at Eastern.

RE: New OC
to those proposing Hammock...what would make him qualified to be an OC? I see this as no different a situation as wanting PJ Fleck to be OC. and oh the disdain and heartache that would happen if Hammock ever "burned" NIU the way PJ did. His name is only mentioned simply because he's a former player, but thats not necessarily good enough criteria to make the hire

He was the Co-OC at Minny after the HC got fired.

I think he is prepared to be a non-AQ OC.

I doubt Doeren will pick him because of the style of O that Hammock is used to.

And he won games as the OC at Minny with a team that was losing before he took over as OC. Not at all similar to PJ. Also, he is at Wisky, so DD can get a reference from Beilama and decide if this is his guy--- which would only be fair since they took our guy (Canada).

Wanna go big?
How about:
Mike Haywood?
Mike Locksley? (Not going to happen - OC at Maryland)
Rich Rodriguez? (Not going to happen- he's at Arizona)
Calvin Magee? (Not going to happen, he's OC at Arizona)

I remember when 7 wanted Beatty in here for an interview for the head coaching position after Kill left. I think he has him right behind Fleck for man crushes.

Hammock is considered, per rivals, to be one of Wisconsin's best recruiters. He definitely could make the step.

Don't forget Britt Davis. Beatty would be 3rd then.

I would think there would be an OC from a good FCS team that has significant experience and has shown he can be successful.
