Why do you need "blow by quickness" to play at the next level? Many excellent point guards have not been particularly quick...jason kidd, mark jackson, scores of others.
Playing pg is about court awareness and spacing.
Bingo! See Tyler Lewis at Oak Hill.
Sure, blow by quickness helps, but Joe has that...I'd rather have someone with a high bball IQ and a willingness to get others involved.

Coming out of high school, Kidd was known to be very athletic. I'm not saying a kid has to have Derrick Rose or JJ speed but, looking at the HIGHLIGHT video, Sina was having trouble bringing the ball up against high school defenders at times. Not saying he won't be a great college player or anything - he just may lack the speed to run a high level offense.
Quote:Is there any college or pro player that people tend to compare you to? A lot of people compare to me to (former Duke point guard) Bobby Hurley. Also (former Maryland point guard) Steve Blake, I’ve gotten a lot of different players.
He was close to heading to Seton Hall until Aquille Carr picked Seton Hall, which made him change his mind. Memphis has reportedly been interested in him for awhile and maybe this might be the "Pure" PG we've been looking for.

he has a ture point guard in here right now, he is a sophomore, his name is Joe Jackson. you blasted Joe awhile back, today you look foolish. Joe had 21 points today with ZERO turnovers. say you were wrong about Joe tigerscane....go ahead, you can do it.

i would have to say that Joe had plenty of bball IQ today with plenty of willingness to get his teammates the ball.

make no mistake, those guys were very quick also, just not exceptionally for the nba level. Kidd was a superior athlete early in his career.
Um, anyway . . .this kid doesn't look 6 feet tall and doesn't look like he can penetrate very well. he looks more like an undersized 2 guard to me.
It also worries me that his highlight film shows him hitting 3 fts (wtf?) and shooting 26 foot 3 pointers. Wow, way to make those. How many of those did you take and miss? probably a few
Like in major league with willie mays hays basket catch. Nice catch Hayes. Don't ever fu&&in do it again.

Joe is not a true PG, Joe's ideal spot wold be the 2G but he doesn't have the size for it.

We don't need another "blow by and get blocked" guard. We need a guard who can PASS THE BALL to the big guys on the block and hit the wing shooters. Being able to knock down a jumper would be a nice plus.

Yeah I didnt like his highlight video at all. No good passes, no good handling skills, he is a 6ft Drew Barham IMO. We already have a 6'6 Drew, why would we want a 6footer?
I am really afraid that our recruiting has taken a pretty hard hit. Since Shaq signed, things have taken a steady downhill course, it appears. I hope there is more going on than what it seems.

EDIT: Add Allerick Freeman to my wish list. That guy will be a stud in college.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that if a guy hasn't been mentioned as Memphis connected since February ... he's probably not that Memphis connected any more.
