Venue for BigEast12 Football Championship?
So if the goal is 12 and to get a Championship game... where do you put the championship game?

Do you stay true to Big East roots and put it in the North East?
Do you try and find a place in the middle?
or Do you adopt C-USA's approach of leading team hosts it?

I'd have it in Greenville, NC just to screw with the ECU people. I'd make Terry Holland present the trophy to the winning team on the promise that his team may be in line for spot No. 14 if the league ever expands again and if ECU plays its cards right. Then when the league passes over ECU for the 10,000th time and instead adds Memphis and Temple I'd tell him that ECU is a shoe-in for that 16th spot if and when the league goes to 16 schools.

Also, at halftime I'd make him do an Orange Bowl style extravaganza exalting the greatness of the Big East and its leadership and how ECU would fit into those plans - in song. Then again I'm a bit of a jerk and schitt like that makes me laugh.

Seems like Madison Square Garden would have the perfect capacity for it.

In all seriousness, it would be beyond foolish for them to hold the game anywhere other than the highest seed's home field. Also, if BYU turns down the BE, I sincerely believe that East Carolina would be the most logical choice as team No. 12.

I agree with you but Meatball has said more than once he wants it in NYC, which is beyond moronic for that time of year and for the teams involved.

There has been talk of it being played at Yankee Stadium. I would host it at the higher seeds stadium.

Plano High School. Holds about 20,000 and it is an easy in and out from DFW Airport.

I actually lol'ed

In seriousness:
I hope the presidents see the disaster the ACC champ game is and instead host the game by highest seed.

We have to agree that most of the league teams don't have the highest travel support or national recognition (... for now i hope.) This will cause lots of problems to host a game a very far distance from the champion teams' home area.

I like the Home field for the #1 team, full stadium is better looking on TV.

Home field of the division winner with the best record is the only way to go. The Pac-12 followed C-USA's lead on this, and so should the Big East.

The ACC should follow the P12's lead on that too.

RE: Venue for BigEast12 Football Championship?
If the BE was smart, they would take the CUSA/PAC12 model and put it at the highest seed's home field. You can even compromise and take the PAC12 model of doing the CUSA model for a few years then eventually transitioning to the neutral site model of the SEC/ACC/MAC/etc.

This CCG would need guaranteed sellouts to start out. No need for an embarrassing ACC/MAC situation.

Plus playing the game in Yankee Stadium (ugh) sounds like a crappy thing. Football games should be played in football stadiums.
