I think Missouri's a good move for the SEC, and for Missouri. I'm surprised the Big 10/11/12/13/14 didn't take them.

Want to compare school rankings, d-bag? ASU (#132) is ranked far below Auburn (#82). ASU is actually ranked below WSU (#115) as well. Congrats, you're the worst school in your conference. Must suck to suck.

When will public realize the quality of a higher education is mostly determined by the individual seeking to achieve one?

I've attended three universities and have been on the faculty at three others. I've found this to be true IN EVERY CASE.

There is probably some truth to that. That said, my school is still better than DrTorch's school.03-lmfao

By whom? That Tuscaloosa bank that gave Alabama all those football national championships?

Anyway, read to your heart's content

The only time Aubrn gets close to ASU is alphabetically (and you're still a step down). My favorite is national academy members among faculty. If Auburn keeps working hard, they'll be up w/ University of Maine - Orono pretty soon!

Third time's a charm, Tiger. You gonna keep proving how dumb you are, and drag your alma mater down with you? 'Cause I can tell the stories of how Auburn was the joke where you went if you couldn't make it at UGa. But I'm thinking you actually like beat downs.

Ok, lets look at the one publication the general public looks at. USNWR.

Oh I know the UGA-Auburn joke. Even if the joke is true, both UGA and Auburn are better schools than ASU. Do you not realize that ASU is the safety school for kids who can't get into Arizona or UCLA or USC or UCSD or SDSU etc, etc, etc. You're stupidity doesn't make me look foolish, it makes you look to ignorant to face the fact that your school is a joke. At any rate, beyond my Auburn degree I also have masters degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill and Vanderbilt. I'm clearly more intelligent than you. Post until your heart is content, I will exit the conversation being fully aware that Auburn is a better school than ASU and I am exponentially more intelligent that you.

Why? Because that's the extent of what you know about higher ed?

Because some meaningless publication that's meant to titillate the ignorant masses has some value to you?

Dude, fat drunk and stupid is no way to go through life.

Oh, you're talking about undergrad aren't you? Tough luck again Tigger, my undergrad is one of those select schools that's rated way higher than your frat party on the plains.

Do you understand why I have a response ready for everything you write? It's kinda like I lead you to write exactly what you write, then I respond. Huh, weird like that.

Missouri will be better than perennial SEC doormats like Kentucky and Vanderbilt in football.

Probably so, and will fail to be peers with LSU, 'Bama, & UF/UGA/Auburn instead of failing to be peers with Texas & Oklahoma. I guess they have figured the difference is money, as per usual. It sure isn't about winning.

Oh yea, no question it's about money. And perhaps some prestige, as the SEC conference (see what I did there?) at least in football is supposed to be the premier conference. Mostly money though.

Of course it's about money. I'm a little surprised that spreading the SEC wealth 14 ways is that much more revenue than Big 12 money 12 ways...but they see the numbers, I don't.

As I said before, SEC likes Missouri b/c they make a good rival w/ Arkansas, recruit and get attention in St Louis, KC and into IL, and have had 60+K football attendence recently.

As for their success, most people didn't figure S. Carolina would ever compete in the SEC, and they're doing alright.

All it takes is one good coach to get you to compete better than you think is possible. From what I understand before the 90s Kansas State had one of the worst football programs ever but turned it around quickly in the 90s to being very respectable. Missouri will be similar to Arkansas I think even more than South Carolina.

That is correct; it has been a couple decades or so, but SI had a two page layout on 'Pitiful State' as I recall the title of the article being . . Kansas State was bad, really bad back in those days.

I think that was my point: Missouri has potential to be second-tier SEC if they do well, much like they have been second-tier Big 12 when they have been good.

My favorite quote

Quote:If the switch is completed, Missouri would become the SEC's 14th member, after Texas A&M was added in September. Fourteen is the preferred number for the SEC as it makes scheduling simpler.

Hmm, didn't someone write something like that on this board?

Now, the challenge for the Pac 12 is getting to 14. I'm thinking they could get Texas, Okla and Okla St, and kick out Washington.

I don't see why the PAC12 wants to get to 14 unless they add some real cash cows.

The PAC has been content to sit at ten for how many years? 12 Games gets you the conference championship game but what does 14 buy you?

Texas will not let go of the LongHorn Network and that keeps them off the PAC's table plus Texas gets to boss around their own conference. OK and OKS are not worth it (more mouths to feed) and, wuite frankly, I don't think you're going to see any PAC school get booted from the conference.

NOt since the days of the PCC (pre 1950's) has a team been booted from the PAC 8-10-12
