I fail to see the point of this post, is this supposed to provide legitimacy to today's events? I'm sorry Memphis that you got left behind for an AQ bid, I'm sorry that your football program is in the worst shape of it's life and that your basketball will eventually fade into irrelevance as the super conferences take over the NCAA, and most of all I'm sorry that at the end of the day Cincinnati at least has a shot at an AQ bid in a BE/Big 12 merger or the ACC (if a raid happens) while Memphis has no hope.

Newsflash: Mark Nordenberg has not been in these positions of authority since 2003.

Another news flash - yes he was -

That integrity certainly was on display this summer when Pittsburgh chancellor Mark Nordenberg was involved in negotiations with ESPN on a reported $1.3 billion deal that might have saved the Big East. Nordenberg's says some outlets had erroneously reported that he was chair of the Big East presidents. Regardless ...

"Marinatto reports directly to Nordenberg," that Big East source said. "What's John going to do? He couldn't take a piss without talking to Nordenberg."

That's right. But...Marinatto couldn't take a piss without consulting Judy Genshaft either. Marinatto was the representative for the presidents, and he had to answer to all of them.

My point was that you guys are bitching about ethics and honor, but you guys did the same thing. There is no room in college sports for tradition or ethics or honor anymore. Your administrations understand this just as well as anyone.

If your answer is anything other than, damn, I guess this is how big business works then you are just being a petulant child.

Tiger fails to see that most are not faulting schools for an opportunity, but how things played out with the situation itself. If Memphis wants to be involved in anything I'd suggest their AD office tries to start acting like it cares to play football above the OVC level.

Let me say, I don't believe Jurich's statement. He's so plugged in to things, that he had to know. I think he's simply not trying to publicly ruffle Marianatto's feathers.

I disagree. I have no doubt that Jurich knew that Pitt and Cuse were having discussions with other conferences, but I don't think he knew that they'd be offered an invite as quickly as they were. From the reports, it sounds like the talks really started Tuesday and everything was pretty much wrapped up by Saturday morning.
