RE: Recap week 2
Doesn't appear there will be any BCS busting from the MAC...I thought NIU had the best opportunity...don't expect any of 4 teams that are undefeated to stay that way...EMU is definitely not making that type of run, Temple has MD and Penn ST, Ohio won't be tested to beat other MAC opponents because of their soft non-conference sked, and Bowling Green has yet to face a tough team either...

Hope you do !!! The MAC, especially Temple can still pull off some nice OOC wins this year...
Toledo taking care of business against Boise at home this weekend, and not laying an egg in the Carrier Dome the folllowing week would set up a nice tilt in Philly against the Owls on Oct. 1 ...

Addazio can recruit as well.
They can't even take a compliment without showing their soft insecure underbelly..

RE: Recap week 2
Top three i would rank as:
1. Toledo - Even if it's not the same Ohio State, they hung with them and had a chance to win despite nearly everyone predicting a blowout.
2. Temple - Unsure of this team because they have played probably the easiest schedule in the MAC (except for maybe EMU) thus far.
3. NIU - Defense just got shredded but we have the best offense in the MAC and i don't see anyone stopping this offense all season long.

Bottom of SBC > bottom of MAC? We'll get another look when South Alabama plays Kent. South has no business winning it being a start up team, but if they do? FWIW I generally pull for MAC teams when they're not playing us, as I see us as being in the same boat, but just trying to win over the last of the people who are always so negative towards the Belt.

Interestingly, if CUSA loses as some expect UCF and Houston to the Big East while taking WKU/MTSU from the Sun Belt the two conferences would end up statistically equal in the Sagarin ratings.
I admire the strong attendance numbers in CUSA at Central Florida, East Carolina, Houston ect....but those schools will soon be out the door.

Game is in Chicago. Hopefully we can correct some mistakes. 10-2 isn't bad either. Need to fix the D & kickoff coverage for MAC play.

Sunbelt home attendance wasn't too bad Saturday:
30,502 MT v Georgia Tech
29,872 Arkansas State v Memphis
28,075 North Texas v Houston
26,532 ULM v Grambling
19,409 WKU v Navy

Bravo, how many of those were wins?
I'll answer myself.
Grambling, and bottom of C-USA Memphis. The rest were 20+ point losses.

I really don't understand why the SBC gets better attendance. At the end of the season I can blame it on weather, but right now there is no excuse. 20k plus is good for the MAC, and that number needs to be higher.
On the other end of it, playing FCS schools do drop attendance rather than playing in state FBS schools that the SBC does to help attendance. On that point I will say it hurts the MAC.

Down south they tend to care more about college football even when it is the small fry. Part of this due to the lack of pro teams for so long and that means they tend to value their top college teams like we value NFL teams and the small college teams like we larger college teams to a degree. Up here we are the third rung of the ladder.

We need to give this a rest. Results show the Sun Belt is comparable to the MAC on the field and indeed they are passing us by in the stands. The reason for the latter is most likely cultural. Fans in The South view football as more than just a game; it's an event worth attending, often regardless of your team's record. In MAC venues; not so much.

All good points that I can't disagree with. Also, I want to thank this board for always being very open to civil arguments among passionate fans from opposing conferences. Good fans, good people and good luck against the big boys.
