Hope you like it - I worked hard on the commercials for it! Looks like the next few episodes hold up.

RE: OT: Falling Skies on TNT
I just finished watching it on the DVR and I really liked it. This show seems a lot more plausible and "understandable" than many other sci fi type shows that didn't last very long and lost my attention early on.

I watched it and I'm intrigued. It could be very good but hopefully they'll fill in more holes and move at a quicker pace to develop characters. Reminds me of "Jeremiah" but with aliens. I'll keep watching for now but they'll lose me if it doesn't get beyond mundane street battles, humans fighting street gangs, etc.

RE: OT: Falling Skies on TNT
I enjoyed it. It was engaging and it had a consistent storyline. I didn't mind the street battles and lack of big special effects scenes because I know for a fact Spielburg is saving the big stuff for the rest of the season. Why put all the flashy stuff in the pilot?

On another note, I was getting worried that sci-fi as a whole was dead, on television at least. With the cancellation of Stargate SG1, Atlantis, and Universe the so called "sci-fi" station (SyFy) is all wrestling and fake ghost shows... So let's hope Falling Skies brings in some great ratings and helps the sci-fi genre get back on its feet!

RE: OT: Falling Skies on TNT
I watched the Sci Fi Channel back when it first started. Shows like V (original), Dark Waters, Friday the 13th the Series, etc were the norm. I love that channel and hope it can recover from the WWE virus it has picked up as of late.

Doctor Who has jacked up the special effects budget and it actually has hurt the show.

It's decent but the budget stinks. Like all sci fi shows it pales in comparrison to Farscape...What the frell!?

RE: OT: Falling Skies on TNT
I watched the first two episodes and I was bothered by one main point: Why are all the aliens they encounter unarmed? They are the garrison left behind to pacify what is left of the native population but when they are moving about the only thing they have to defend themselves are their six legs, unless one of the robots is nearby.
However (potential spoiler alert), I have a theory that may explain it. In the first episode the science teacher passed along an observation by a student that the alien robots are bipedal, unlike the aliens themselves, which is strange since you would expect they would resemble their creators. I think this indicates that the Skitters themselves are slaves and are given orders by other aliens that more closely resemble humans. That would explain why they were not allowed to have weapons themselves but still be allowed to interact with the robots, etc.

I am watching and enjoying it. Basic apocalyptic stuff and reminds me a lot of the more recent The Walking Dead, which is better in my opinion.

Show is helped out by getting Noah Wyle, who is a considerably big name in the television market for the lead. Though after watching episode after episode of ER as a kid, its hard to see him now fighting aliens.

Show premise is better...its realistic in the number of teenagers they have out fighting, and the premise is right, if an Alien invasion was to knock out 80 percent of the Worlds population, you can sure as heck bet that anyone whose old enough to handle a weapon is going to have one.

I am a scifi nut and I am positively scared to death. I have a long history of getting into sci fi TV shows that subsequently get canceled. This one is the best one in a while.

You take out some of the gratuitous over the top sex and BG is easily the best scifi series ever.

Interestingly enough, one of the documentary channels just had a special called "When Aliens Attack". Turns out that at least the United States and the UK have (secretly of course) war gamed this scenario out. It plays out exactly like this show in every scenario. Short term we get our clocks cleaned but the longer they try and occupy the greater the chance of oir winning.

Who wishes Firefly would come back?

Falling Skies is getting better and better. The story has a sense of mystery and the writing is good.
