Glad they got a second year to work out the kinks. We definitely need more Sci Fi shows. I have lost way too many in the last 3 years and the only one who's writing is impeccably bulletproof is Dr. Who.

Ive been following a theory like that since they revealed the radio's inside the heads, and how protective they are of the harnassed kids

Also they series portrayed the gangster Pope killing the skitter nest in a negative light, which leads me to believe we are supposed to feel sorry for them in the end.

The other strange thing is that the harnassed kids seem to be as protective of the skitters. In the nest episode, the kids seemed almost upset that the skitter guarding them was killed. when the theory should normally be that the kids should stand there motionless, if the person giving them commands was killed in action.

I finally watched the most recent episode last night.

What I was left wondering was what happened with the kids vitals dropping after they were rescued and the one kid ultimately dying. Also when Ben came to he recognized his father, unlike Rick, who when he came to not only didn't recognize his father, he put his harness back on.

The combination of that, and the aforementioned strangeness of the way the skitter treats the kids and the kids not wanting Hal to kill the skitter, seems like we're heading towards some sort of revelation that a group of kids are attached to one specific skitter and vic versa.

Wonder if the skitters are no longer able to reproduce or something like that? They all seem to be the same size, granted like humans they could have both military and civilian subsets within their society, but something to think about...

Interesting theory regarding the skitters and the kids, but didn't in episode 3 (i think), when Hal was knocked out and they took Karen, one of the skitters seemed to be directing the mech to shoot the kids after they were lined up as a reprisal of some sort.

There is also the matter mattter of why they took Karen at all instead of killing her.

Maybe the skitter wasn't giving the orders but just drawing Hal's attention to what was happening and why.

heck in District 9 there were women who would sleep with the aliens as prostitutes. I hope they don't go that direction.

I mean they talked about how killing the kids was them playing mind games, but it definitely paints them as ultimately expendable to the skitters....

i think the skitters are more like nannys for these kids. the Mech's probably house the true invaders.

TNT renewed Falling Skies for a second season today. Ratings are still strong, still top rated of all the series debut's on cable this season.
