Back before the MAC invited Umass, LA Tech was mentioned more than once as a candidate to be their 14th team.

Boise State>CUSA

If that were the case CUSA would have the better TV deal. Boise is also in the NCAA's cross hairs.

At this point I would take MaC of WAC because of bowl tie-ins and CST.

WAC should start a East coast division with FCS schools that want to move up and have a east/west championship game.

there is a good east coast group that could do this: JMU, ODU, UNCC, Ga State, Ga Southern, Jacksonville State, Delaware, App State.

The WAC needs to add FB schools not schools like Seattle. Isn't Cal Poly SLO upgrading? I'd also look at Sacramento State.

Boise State>CUSA

01-wingedeagle One team doesn't make a conference. I understand that Boise St. is better in football than all other teams in C-USA...but does than mean that Auburn > PAC-10 or Ohio St. > ACC and Big East ?

I think in this case it certainly does mean that having a yearly BCS buster makes you a better conference as MWC is picking up BCS money while CUSA is earning none.

Also that the MWC has Hawaii and Air Force in football and UNLV and New Mexico in basketball is worth noting. There is more tradition in the MWC and attendance is generally better. The MWC has a couple of weak schools like Wyoming and Colorado State but CUSA has 5 or 6 of them.

Fresno and Nevada alone would be equal in power to some of the best CUSA football schools like So. Miss and Houston.

The MWC is carrying a lot of states 100%: Hawaii, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico. CUSA is always second tier in its own territory.

If the MWC earns as expected that BCS bid, they'll be able to recruit over from CUSA Houston and SMU for a new ESPN TV deal (4-5 million per school a year). Houston and SMU would definitely leave FOX/CUSA for something like that.

CUSA is goint to end up losing schools to the Big East/MWC and maybe even find UTEP heading back to the WAC.

Boise State is a powerhouse, that's for sure. Sort of reminds me of the old Big 8 days when it was callled Oklahoma and the 7 dwarfs and then Oklahoma, Nebraska and the 6 dwarfs.

It puts tremendous pressure on Boise State, to put this conference on its shoulders and carry it. The MWC board has discussed the tremendous importance of the Boise State @Georgia game...and the tremendous implications it has for the MWC. It shouldn't be that way...all on Boise State. So, one can argue either way I suppose, MWC is strong because of Boise State....or MWC teeters with all the marbles riding on one team, Boise State.

If JMU can get into MAC, I agree. But if JMU cannot, and the SBC supposedly has decided to stop at 10 teams, JMU may have to park itself in WAC until a better opportunity appears.

I would add s school like Georgia State or James Madison as a football school only school (knowing that school would leave as soon as the opportunity presented itelf) and then encourage/push a far western school to move up to IA, like Cal Poly San Luis Obispo which is sort of a little TAMU.

I would do football only on Missouri State's end in the WAC at least right now. No way would I do all-sports but a football only membership would be half way tempeting.

The MAC should take a serious look at Missouri St FB only.

Missouri State would bring the MAC into the St. Louis and Kansas City markets. The school would be only the second FBS team out of Missouri and receive a lot of press.

I: Missouri St, No. IL, Ball St, CMU/WMU/EMU, BG, Miami
II: UMass, Temple, JMU, Buffalo, Kent, Akron, Ohio, Toledo

Missouri has a 16,600 seat stadium making it large enough for FBS. If the school could commit to say another 3-4k seats it would be more than adaquate for the MAC.

Missouri State would enjoy the level of coverage with the MAC's ESPN TV deal. Most schools have at least 6 appearances on either ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3.

If I were Missouri State and wanted to move up to IA, I would go MAC or SBC if either were a true possibility. Speaking as a CUSA/West and Tulsa fan, the far west is really, really shaky. The primary example is La Tech, which I feel so sorry for being stranded on an island.

If Missouri State cannot get into MAC or SBC, I would just stay put in Missouri Valley, a very fine conference.

La Tech is stranded due to their own stubbornness. I don't feel sorry for them at all. There is a perfect solution staring them in the face, but they are too proud to take it.

Missouri State would be foolish to leave the MVC for the Sun Belt - it would be a huge downgrade overall (especially basketball), same with the MAC. I don't see them moving up to FBS unless several of their MVC peers are ready to do the same.

The MAC is going to be looking eastward first with JMU/Delware planning to expand their stadiums.

I only see the MAC looking West if Temple/UMass depart and options like Missouri St or Illinois State are the only options available. As long as Temple/UMass are in the MAC, the MAC will do everything possible to court their full membership.

MAC would be the best option football only especially if we got a deal like UMass and Temple got. Also we are already affilates in the MAC for field hockey and men's swimming. So the relationships is there already.

Also here is stadium plans we have in the works to get us up to 23 to 25k or so.

That is one of the weirdest looking stadiums I have ever seen in my life. Is that lower part already in place? If it isn't then I don't see why they would build it like that.

Honestly if I were Louisiana Tech I would take a serious look at the Sun Belt, the new WAC doesn't really separate itself from the Sun Belt IMO.

Geography and location of the stadium. Its landlocked on campus and that is really the only way they can add more luxury boxes and the party deck to the stadium. Besides that is student section side.
