BIG EAST MEMBERS SURVEY
For all fans of each school already in the BIG EAST (TCU counts too) Let's do a fun Survey. Part 1; Which one conference mate would you most not want to lose (in Football) and why? Part 2; Which conference mate would be the least hard for you to lose and whom would you replace them with if you could pick?

C-USA fans and other conference fans are allowed to chime in as well, but try to keep it about the conference you are currently in.

RE: BIG EAST MEMBERS SURVEY
For me (ECU) I would least like to lose Marshall. it is a friendly rivalry based out of mutual respect and history.

I would least mind losing UTEP. Nothing personal, but they are just to far away and we have not been in the conference long with them. I would replace them with Va. Tech. I used to live in Blacksburg, It is a regional foe, and they have passionate fans.

P.S. ....Yes I know there is no chance in hell that Va. Tech would join C-USA, so before you chime in, this is just for fun. Feel free to pick Notre Dame, Florida, San Bernadino C.C., whom ever!!!! This is just for fun!

Hardest to lose = Tulsa. I grew up there and they have a cool fanbase.

Easiest to lose = Tulane. Poor in every sport, poor fan support, poor facilities. Love the big easy though.

Replacement = LA Tech or FIU

RE: BIG EAST MEMBERS SURVEY
hardest to lose - that's tough. I'm going to cheat and give a tie for WVU, Pitt, and Louisville.

easiest to lose - Rutgers.

Cheers,
Neil

Least like to lose -- Mountain Momma
Why? -- some good games leading to a little bit of a rivalry; they travel; they've given the league its best out of conference wins since Louisville has been in the league.

Least hard to lose -- really, we can't afford to lose anybody. As soon as I put someone in this spot, I start thinking "well, no, we need them".

I'd add East Carolina to the league, and get to 10. They feel like a Big East school. They pack their football stadium. They travel. And at one time we had a bit of a rivalry going with them.

Toughest Loss: WVU. Pitt has more tradition with WVU than any other program in the BE.

Easiest Loss: UCONN. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so I'll not comment further.

RE: BIG EAST MEMBERS SURVEY
Toughest: any current FB-playing member whose school was a member in '79-'80.

Easiest: Rutgers, or any current FB-playing member whose school joined the league in '03.

Replacement: Memphis (they have more resources and potential than people want to admit)...

RE: BIG EAST MEMBERS SURVEY
1. WVU: They are at this time the star of the conference (tradition, fan support, winning, etc.) and they are close to Louisville (compared to anyone except Cincy)

2. Rutgers: They just don't excite me. (I want to say Syracuse, but they do have tradition) I am assuming I can't take a team from an existing BCS Conference, so I would take ECU. They have incredible fan base, open up a new state for the BEast, also Memphis: they bring a great city, BBQ, new state, good basketball, have shown good fan support and with a BCS tag would be just like Cincinnati)

(As an aside, UConn has won a national championship for the Big East in basketball...easiest to lose? Maybe if they only dropped football)

I think teams with other teams nearby that could pick up the slack if you lost them would be the easiest to lose. I honestly mean this without any offense, but if USF was switched out for UCF, I don't think it'd affect the conference very much.

RE: BIG EAST MEMBERS SURVEY
I think this is a very clever way to make your next point, Purple Hook.

As for me, my choice for the program I would least like to lose would be WVU for a ton of reasons. The program that I would feel least badly about losing would be Villanova.
