RE: STO
I only watched the BSU-OU game, but the cuts during live action drove me nuts. And forcing in highlight packages that make you miss live action is never a good thing. Reghi is one of the most cliche sportscasters out there, but he's a good guy, and really personable.
I didn't catch the names of the 2 guys at the pre-game desk, but the analyst (younger guy on the left) was painful.
STO has got a good start, and they'll tweak it as they grow. They just need better fact-checking, as a lot of their info was inaccurate.

Was listening to him as I was driving back to BG the past few days from Columbus, Dayton, and Lima.

I have had problems with college football games being blacked out for whatever reason they deem fit at that moment in time.
Directv would love to show games on all sorts of channels but they are not allowed to due to laws that limit what you can show when two different stations have it.
For instance my mom lives in Binghamton NY. She is a die hard NY Rangers fan and she loves watching them on MSG (Madison Square Garden network). Unfortunately the owners of MSG made a map and consider Binghamton to be a part of the state that wants to watch the Buffalo Sabers rather than watch the Rangers. Due to this MSG forces Directv to show the MSG feed that shows Buffalo games rather than the Ranger feed. Don't even get my mom started on the HD problem she has due to the NY city cable network that randomly decides which games on MSG are allowed to be shown as HD outside of their network to try to bring in new customers (doesn't work either since nobody outside the immediate city vicinity can change to that cable network so they are screwing us for no reason).

If you're in the Cleveland radio market (which doesn't always include Cleveland).

Interesting I'm watching EMU/UT on STO (HD to boot) on DirecTV (I'm out of the midwest TV market).
I assume it is on ESPN Full Court.

Agreed. According to STO, OU was a 13 seed when they beat Georgetown last year. I believe that was misinformation was mentioned in at least 3 games that featured the Cats.

Regardless of whether you have sports pack. Believe this is no different than regular season football & basketball for the MAC, and no different than when the MAC was on Fox Sports Ohio.
Basically, they treated the MAC tournament like they would a pro sports game.
I'm sure you are right, but it is still ridiculous. If I was in the market I would have STO as my local sports channel and wouldn't need to pay for the sports package just to watch the games. So it makes no sense to sell me a package so I can watch games in a different market and then black them out. And like I already said, other conferences were showing their out of market games on channels in the same sports package, why not the MAC and STO?

RE: STO
For me, the move to STO has been a disaster. I lost all my access to watch MAC basketball.
Like ANYTHING that ESPN is even remotely connected to, it turned into a pile of No way in h#ll am I paying for an entire season of full court just to watch a couple of games.
My ISP doesn't get ESPN3, STO MAC games are blacked out, All-MACcess is a disaster, as usual. I guess the turd my team is laying right now almost makes me glad I can't watch it.
This is all typical MAC - a rinky dink media package from a rinky dink league. If you ain't in Ohio, forget it.

Trust me, you don’t want to watch Western against Akron right now.
STO is showing the Bronco meltdown in digital delivery.

I can pull in a decent signal from the western part of the state for 850. I listen to him often as I travel.

ESPN controls sports. Blame them if you're not happy.

I say invest in a new game console and use their services. You get ESPN3 that way. Since I already had an xbox360 and xbox live I can watch ESPN3 anytime. Haven't really utilized it yet as I could (I don't tend to watch too many sports outside of hockey and college football on TV) but I could. Of course it is not worth it if you don't like video games at all.

It's the first year of the STO deal. They will improve things. Maybe we should be happy there is a station that actually cares about having us.

If I was a kid that might be something for me to pursue. However, I happen to be a middle aged MAC hoops fan that is not a gamer. It would be an expensive way to ensure that I could see MAC basketball games.
OZoner - I did blame ESPN, the evil empire.

I go the XBox option (which has been great for me since I'm not in the normal MAC viewing area for any package that they have), but I'll note that STO is also available nationwide as part of the sports pack on AT&T Uverse on 735 (SD) and 1735 (HD)...
