TCU's 2012 Conference Schedule
I did some checking of future football schedules, and unless the conference changes the rotation, TCU's first-year conference schedule will look like this:

Home:
Cincinnati, Louisville, South Florida, West Virginia

Away:
Connecticut, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse

I don't know about other schools' fans, but UofL fans will like the fact that we'll play TCU in Ft Worth the first year. It will help balance out our home schedule the following year (2013) when Cincy, UConn, USF & WVU (not to mention Uk) will all be be away games. We will consider TCU one of our major conference rivals - not only are they good, but they're also a former conference foe.

Well as a USF fan I do not like the rotation USF has, we will be on the road to TCU,West Virginia, Louisvlle and Cinncinati

I agree with you there. That is very bad for USF and very unbalanced - not only in degree of difficulty, but it also forces you to play your old-time conference foes either home or away all the same year.

RE: TCU's 2012 Conference Schedule
Now that I look at it from TCU's perspective, I don't think it's good for them either. They have a conference history with 3 different teams, and all 3 will be home games during even years and away games during odd years. That'll be the same kind of imbalance for both USF and TCU. I think maybe the conference needs to intervene and mix things up a little for a couple of schools. Though I guess 10 years down the road nobody will care anymore.

Yes, frankly, that sucks.

RE: TCU's 2012 Conference Schedule
I read that nothing has been decided regarding conference schedules beyond 2011, according to an interview John Marinatto did with ESPN.com. It would be rather easy to plug TCU in and use the existing rotation, but it sounds like that has yet to be decided.

RE: TCU's 2012 Conference Schedule
Well you figure there are a few variables that all have to do with expansion.

1st is there going to be a 10th Big East team (not Nova) that will play in conference in 2012 (i.e. Houston/UCF/ECU/SMU, ect)

2nd is Nova coming up as a Big East member. This effects 2012 in that from what I understand....the league has told Nova thay will try to work them games with BE teams for their independant seasons of 2012 and 2013. How many games will the BE work for them.....just a few or up 9? Which BE teams still have openings in their 2012 schedule?

So as of right now....as has been mentioned....we don't know if there will be 8 or 9 conference games in 2012 and we don't know what role if any Nova will have on each of our 2012 schedules.

How did they determine the rotation after the raid?
I don't see any other way but to add them in the open hole.

That would be it if they went to nine for 2012. If they somehow bring 'Nova in too (and I don't think they'd fasttrack them), then they might have to consider round-robin vs. skipping a team in everyone's schedule.

There is no way Villanova can be fast tracked. I think NCAA rules on schools moving up from FCS demands it. But they wouldn't be ready in either case...

RE: TCU's 2012 Conference Schedule
Louisville's schedule will be balanced out a bit by inserting TCU into the current rotation in 2012. But TCU & USF's schedules will be unbalanced. Cincinnati's already appears to be somewhat unbalanced, and adding TCU as a road game the same year they play WVU & Louisville away isn't going to make it any more balanced. So I hope the league takes action to change it up a little bit.

I didn't know that there'd already been talk of this, and that the league had stated that they were open to doing it.

RE: TCU's 2012 Conference Schedule
I doubt that going to Pitt, Syracuse, or USF will be much easier that season. IMO all 3 teams will improve with their new coaches. It won't be long before Wanny is long forgotten by Pitt fans, Marrone is doing great at SU so far, and USF should be considerably better in year 2 for Skip. So it's kind of like 6 or one and a half dozen of the other, dude...

If that's the case, and assuming I will have the means to make it to just one road conference game- which of these should I attend the first go-round?

Go to either Pittsburgh or Rutgers. Pittsburgh's a great town, and Rutgers isn't that far from NYC. There's plenty to do at either...

Syracuse. Before/after the game head north to Sackets Harbor and get yourself a War of 1812 Amber Ale. It's amazing.

I'd prefer they rework the schedule. I'd prefer not to have WVU & Louisville at home in the same year nor travel to Syracuse, Rutgers & UConn (the 3 farthest schools) all in the same year.

Amen to that...when you come up in 2012 you are invited to my tailgate

We'll have some 1812 set aside for you

That's a legitimate complaint, and I'm sure The BEast office is looking into it, if TCU's President or AD has broached the subject. Cost considerations will effect TCU's success or failure in The BEast...

Not sure how they can. It would mess up the current home/home rotation. I don't know if anyone would agree to it.
