Northern Illinois welcomed a number of local football players to Thursday's practice, including several who are receiving recruiting attention from the Huskies.

Murphy's K.J. Maye and Greg Jones visited with assistant coach Rick Cauley. Maye, a quarterback, is expected to move to receiver or defensive back in college, while Jones is a playmaking outside linebacker. Both are uncommitted.

Vigor coach Kerry Stevenson brought three players to NIU's practice -- defensive backs Titus Whitsett, Marlon Moore and Jacoby Glenn. Glenn is committed to Kentucky; Moore and Whitsett are uncommitted.

You beat me to this post. Not sure if any of these guys pan out, but at a minimum we are making good recruiting contacts while we are down there. Glad to see we are seizing this opportunity as this trip could pay off for us big time in the long run. To date we have not had success from this area, but being down there and having a game like this can help to change that.

Jacoby Glenn, committed to Kentucky, was also offered by Miss State and Memphis, according to Rivals.

Jimmie Ward makes for a nice "local boy" does good story coming off his huge play in the MACC.

MAC rival UMass has also offered him.

I believe Church chose NIU over Boston College. And one of last year's recruits may have as well.

NIU's depth at QB may be an issue, but then again if he's confident he can win the job it shouldn't be. And the chances of having a winning and team-successful career has to be higher at NIU. BC is in a slump at the moment.

Based on his statline (he is only 5'11'') and his 4.5 forty time I would doubt he would play QB here.

Nice catch.

Checked again, and it seems that BC is recruiting as a CB. Probably the same with NIU.

4.2 shuttle time is good for shifting hips in coverage, sounds like a good CB prospect.

Two of the Academies have offered too.

Looks to be a solid with academics and character.

He'd look good in Cardinal & Black.

I like this one.....He is from SPARTA!!!
Have have to put him on offense though,
might kill someone on defense.
I think that is at least a 15 yarder

RE: 2012 Recruiting Thread
The one thing I have noticed, not that they report every new offer, is that it seems like we have not offered alot of new players in december. When you start expanding your offers late in the recruiting year, that might mean that your first and second tier recruits have gone elsewhere.
